QuoteOk, where's the xrays....? We've seen the beautiful outside, now how 'bout the inside?  How about your concusion, are your eyes ok, that was scary to read about that.  Give us an update, we need a new thread to talk about, xrays and how much it's gonna take out of your pocket book and when you're gonna be able to race again.  Don't forget to take SuperDave's miracle bone fix-it pills. I finally got my horse pills and am taking them as instructed...lol.  Did you find out exactly what you broke in your ankle? Anyway, take it easy and heal quickly. Marc.

The ankle is doing okay I guess. I'm still alive anyway, so it can't be that bad.
I broke a 2 inch chunk at the base of the Tibia on the inside of the foot and have an approximately 4 inch crack running up the Libia on the outside at the base of the leg where the leg stabilizes the ankle.  :whine:

I went to the doctor Friday afternoon. The bone is where it is supposed to be and appears to be stable. The doctor sent my x-rays to two orthopedic surgeons and one sports therapist for an opinion on whether I would need pins and/or screws to hold the chunk of bone in place on the Tibia. The sports therapist said I should have 2 screws put in but the two orthopedic surgeons said it was good as is as long as I don't screw it up with in the next few weeks.   :whine:

So as of now, no screws or pins upon my choice. I'll go back in two weeks and if the bone has somehow gotten displaced the I will get cut open, they'll crack the bone off from where it is, and put it back where it should be with a few screws. The doctor said "Considering how you broke it, you obviously have a few screws loose as it is. I don't want to set you up to have 2 more screws to come loose down the road if we can keep from it."  :whine:

I've been taking Calcium pills, Vitamin D, Zinc, and a strict regiment of Captain Morgan and Diet Coke. And lots of milk. I mean lots and lots of milk. I'm surprised I'm not pissing white.

The concussion is okay. The head aches are pretty much gone but the doctor said they may hang around for several months.  :whine:

The eye is good. Just blood red right now and no spots or anything. The doctor said it's pretty normal with a hard enough thump to the head. Even for it popping up a few days after the accident. He said the thump could have weekend a small blood vessel and something as little as a cough or a sneeze would have been enough to pop it. Freaked me out at the moment I saw it, but it's all good and apparently pretty normal.  :whine:

I have insurance and I went to my family doctor who has an x-ray and everything in his office so my out of pocket costs shouldn't be much more than my typical 10 or 20 dollar co-pay per visit.  :whine:

So that's the update. I'm kicked back in the office now with my foot on the desk still waiting for the swelling to go down. I still haven't unloaded the bikes out of the trailer but plan to do that tonight. If I'm not back in the saddle by Gateway then I should be good to go by Road America. I'll cross that bridge when it gets here.   :whine:

So there's the update requested.    :thumb:

Damn, boy, you got yourself a whole orchestra playing in the background, huh?  :whine:

Take a calcium supplement w/ vit D instead of the whole milk thang. Pop a few multi vitamins here and there as well. Do high quality protein intake, (chicken/fish, not fatty beef), and watch the sugar intake, as it causes inflammation.

Thanks for the update. Now get a friend to help you unload the bike.
