Wreck at blackhawk

did anyone happen to see me flipping down the front straight and off turn one and maybe see what happened that got the rear end bouncing around? pics would be oober cool. :cheers:

i passed 5 people on the first lap, got a good run through the last turn, passed another and was setting to out break a guy into turn one. i had just lightly eased on the break waiting for the other guy to break first and the rear end started kicking side to side.

i was going damn fast and slid/flipped a long damn ways.
i'd really like to find out what the hell happened to cause it.

I was pitted next to ya and my g/f gave your transponder back. We seen you and your bike go flipping and tumbling off turn one. We couldn't quite figure out what happened. Their were a bunch of bikes behind you and on the inside of you so you may have been tapped from the side. Some people in turn one thought they seen you hit the guys rear tire in front of you but whos to say... Glad to see you got up safely! Hows the ankle doing?

swollen up to me knee now. i'll hit up the dr. in the morning.
i didn't hit the guy in front of me. i was about 4 feet or so to hit right when it all started happening. i did talk to him afterwards. he said the bike or me hit him when i went down. i was glad he made it through okay. i was looking for other bikes when i finally got up. i'd hate to take someone else out.

and thanks for getting the transponder for me. thanks to everybody.

AND A HUGE THANKS TO THE CORNER WORKERS. their voices sound like angels when you come to flat on your face. you guys have every once of my respect.

Yeah, it doesn't ease a nervous stomach when you've just gotten your license, and are asked "so you gonna race tomorrow?" by the guy that broke his collar bone at Topeka, who is standing next to a guy that broke his shoulder blade that day, knowing that another guy you know just broke his collar bone, and after watching Greg Avello's crash (so glad it sounds like he's doing ok). "Oh, you'll be fine" :P

Wasn't there and didn't see it but.... if you are trying to out brake someone into T1 at blackhawk and you are approx. 4 feet to the inside of the rider in front (as you mentioned) then your rear-end could be lofted by a undulation in the track surface there (done it many times, rear in the air I mean - not crash).  If your suspension/chassis isn't set-up well your going to experience quite a bit of loft in the rear and it could be what caused your loss of control.  Hope this helps

When your rear came down it was not straight with your bike. I think you were on your brakes a little hard then you think you were from what the guy behind you said. If you could get in touch with  Daniel Swenson (AM123) he had a front row seat for it all. He was so happy not to hit your bike. Hoipe things are getting better. We'll see ya at the track

i don't know. the breaks on the kawis are much stronger than i am used to but i know i had hardly hit the breaks. i mean i had just eased onto it just a wee bit waiting for the other guy to break.
i don't know. i'd just like to know what happened. not that it'll change anything. but it would ease my mind and maybe allow me to learn a little bit.
but i got one hell of a concussion. my head is still pounding. and a broken tibia and a cracked libia at my ankle. i should know tuesday if i get pins and/or screws.
i should be back out this year. but not sure when .
