Just pulled the kickstand off of the Gixxer, and I'm wondering how do you guys go about bypassing it?

John made up a bracket to hold the switch in...
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

Kim, you always have the answer but why is it always something custom that John did for you? LOL

I'll have to see what I can rig, but I was wondering if there was any other way. I mean all it is is a closed switch. I gotta beleive there is a way to just close the loop permanently. If not then I'll go this route. Any idea what he made it out of? Something plyable enough but yet sturdy enough to hold the switch in, wonder what material he used.

LOL - He did that for the "old" TLR because he knew it would eventually be a street bike again and didn't want to hack up a pristine wiring harness.  For the '00, he simply traced back and sodered the wires, eliminating the switch altogether.

I think the network execs were following him around when they came up with McGyver.   ;D

Disconnect switch then take a short piece of wire strip at both ends insert into connector, wrap with electrical tape.

If you need to keep it in tact remove it and go to the parts store and buy just the connector with the pins in it.  Jumper the two pins together and plug it in.

If you don't need to keep it in tact, just cut the wires and connect them together..

Who needs a kick stand switch anyway?  If you do... and you race... stay far away from me... ;D ;D ;D ;D

LOL...!!!!

Paul is like that too.  Thank goodness or we could never afford this racing habit of his.

When ever possible when a bypass is being done (for a side stand switch) I suggest to make a trip, with the side stand and switch disconnected at the plug, to your local Radio shack. ( no I dont work for them)
Buy the correct prong and insure the correct wire to use.
Then make a jump connector that has less of a chance to come loose, and "plug it in".
Cover with tape.   What I prefer is liquid electrical tape first, then regular Black or gray Electric tape over that.
Secure wire some place safe, away from heat or external ereas.  (zip tie it to the wire harness is sometimes good)
If you ever want to put the stand back on, you will have less problems doing so.
  Welcome, and good luck.

Well finally got around to doing this. I kinda did what unforgiven said, except I just used the stock connector. Traced the wires back found the plug disconnected it. Looped cut and looped the two wires together taped it all up real good and zip tied it back underneath the sub-frame. So now that is done.

Next on the list is safety wiring, swapping front rotors, and changing out the case covers. I'm getting closer which is good since so is the riding season. LOL
