Last post by Biketographer - July 27, 2025, 12:23:55 PM
Name of Product: Duwiikab Youth ATVs

Hazard:
The youth ATVs are missing parking brakes, tail lamps, stop lamps and all required safety reflectors, which reduces the visibility of the ATV to other vehicles, posing a risk of collision. Additionally, the ATVs violate other mandatory safety requirements for ATVs, such as lacking hang tags and required labeling. ATVs that violate the mandatory standard pose a risk of serious injury or death to the rider.

Consumer Action:
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Duwiikab Youth ATVs immediately and dispose of them in accordance with local disposal requirements. Do not sell or give away these hazardous ATVs.
Product Safety Warning Date:
July 24, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using the Duwiikab Youth ATVs.

According to CPSC's latest data, off-highway vehicles (OHVs), including ATVs, are associated with an average of more than 100 deaths and an estimated 27,900 emergency department-treated injuries annually for children less than 16 years old. (2024 Report of Deaths and Injuries Involving Off-Highway Vehicles with More than Two Wheels).

Additionally, these youth ATVs lack a federally mandated, CPSC-approved ATV action plan, which is required for any manufacturer or distributor to import into or distribute in the United States any newly assembled or unassembled ATV. Federal law requires ATV action plans to ensure that the industry promotes ATV safety, including rider training, dissemination of safety information, age recommendations and other safety measures.

CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Huagum, of China, doing business as Duwiikab. Huagum has not agreed to recall these ATVs or offer a remedy to consumers.

About 150 ATVs were sold online on Amazon by Huagum from January 2025 through June 2025 for about $350. The ATVs may also have been sold on other platforms and by third-party sellers.

The ATVs are black with red and white stickers. "Sport Spirit" can be found on the side of the ATVs.

These products were manufactured in China.

CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Duwiikab Youth ATVs immediately and dispose of them in accordance with local disposal requirements. Do not sell or give away these hazardous ATVs.

Motorcycle Talk / WHAT AUSTRALIANS REALLY DO IN ...
Last post by Biketographer - July 24, 2025, 11:51:03 AM
Not motorcycle related, but it is vehicle related (and a bit funny.)

BRISBANE, Australia, July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- New research released today from insurance provider Youi has revealed that for many Australians, their car is more than just a mode for transport – it's a trusted companion, a safe space, and even a secret-keeper.

The Youi Car Confessions* study, which surveyed more than 2,000 Aussies, found nearly half (45%) of respondents say they have an emotional connection to their car, with younger generations leading the charge – 58% of Gen Z drivers admit to feeling emotionally attached to their vehicle.

According to the data, the majority of Aussies (92%) use their car for something other than driving, and 43% of us spend time in the car without going anywhere. The most reported non-driving activities include snacking (59%), making phone calls (60%), and just stopping to enjoy the view (64%).

From naming our cars to using them as a place to cry, vent, or simply escape, Youi's Head of Product - Vehicle and Leisure, Marni Jackson said the findings paint a picture of a nation that sees their car as a personal sanctuary.

"Our cars have become an extension of ourselves – a place where we feel in control, safe, and even free to be vulnerable," Marni said.

"The data highlights generational and gender differences – 67% of Gen Zs enjoy hanging out listening to music or podcasts in the car compared to 43% of Boomers. Interestingly, 36% of men like to nap in the car, compared to only 29% of women.

"From first drives to quiet moments of reflection, our cars are part of our life stories – and we're proud to help Australians insure those stories every day. At Youi, we've always believed that insurance is about more than just covering a vehicle – it's about understanding the people behind the wheel.

"Based on the data we've collected, we've created four unique 'Car Personalities' and Aussies can now take a quiz to find out exactly who they are behind the wheel. Simply go to our website to take the test," she said.

Aussie cars contain more than just secrets and memories

According to the data, the most common items found in Aussie cars include blankets (36%), a change of clothes (24%) and toilet paper (23%). Gen Zs and Millennials are more likely to keep clothing, hobby materials, and stuffed toys in their car compared to Pre-Boomers and Boomers.

Aussies also believe their car has a personality of its own. A quarter of Aussies have given their car a pet name and 1 in 5 talks to their car, 13% even saying their car "knows all their secrets."

When it comes to generational differences, 22% of Gen Z drivers like to give their cars pep talks when going up a hill and are also more likely than any other generation to have special memories attached to their cars – for 50% of Gen Z drivers, these include owning their own car for the first time or having their first solo drive (44%).

Consumer Behaviour Scientist and academic, Nathan Moore from the University of Technology Sydney, said that our emotional bonds to our cars develop for multiple reasons. These include their value in fulfilling our fundamental psychological needs, like freedom and safety, and the fond memories that we create with them.

"Our emotional attachment to cars stems from their role as extensions of the self. They carry our memories, represent our freedom, and often reflect our identity. This connection deepens when we start to relate to cars almost as if they have personalities of their own. Our shared experiences with them, the way they feel to drive, the sounds they make, and their appearance can all evoke emotions and shape how we see them, not just as machines but as companions in our lives," said Mr Moore.

"The findings echo this, with roughly half of Australians reporting an emotional connection with their car. When asked about special memories attached to the cars they have owned, 42% of Aussies referenced the feeling of having their own car for the very first time. Whether it's the first time someone completed a solo drive (27%), or new parents bringing home their baby for the first time (32%), our cars hold key memories from our lives.

"83% of Australians say they're proud of their car, with many pointing to its reliability, sentimental value, or the hard work it took to make it their own. It's no surprise, then, that people take good care of their cars. They're a constant presence in our lives, helping us get where we need to go and supporting our everyday routines. For many, cars can feel like trusted companions. That might explain why 1 in 4 Australians has given their car a pet name, and nearly half describe it as having a gender," he said.

From secret snack stashes to late-night cries, our cars have seen it all. To learn more about Aussie Car Confessions, or to take the quiz to find out your Car Personality, visit Youi's Car Confessions hub here.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. and STURGIS, S.D., July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonic Automotive, Inc. ("Sonic" or the "Company") (NYSE: SAH), one of the nation's largest automotive and powersports retailers, is kicking off a milestone celebration for the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with a regionwide push across all five of its Harley-Davidson dealerships in the Black Hills, including the first ever and all-new store in the city of Sturgis: Sturgis Harley-Davidson. At the center of this effort is a limited-edition motorcycle giveaway: one of just 26 custom-designed Sturgis Edition Harley-Davidson motorcycles created to honor the spirit of the rally and its riders.

Sonic_Motorcycle_at_Sturgis.jpg

This commemorative 2025 Low Rider S features an all-black design with orange pinstriping and a rally-inspired paint scheme, paying tribute to the iconic 1991 FXDB Sturgis originally designed by Willie G. Davidson. Of the 26 limited-edition Sturgis motorcycles built, several have already been sold, one was just awarded to the 2025 winner of the NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway, and only a handful remain, including one that will be given away to a lucky winner during Rally Week in downtown Sturgis.

"There's no better place on Earth to give away a bike like this than Sturgis," said Mike Maloney, Operations and Rally Manager for Black Hills Harley-Davidson. "This rally means something personal to riders around the world, and now they have a shot at riding home on a piece of history."

Ride To Win Challenge: Ride the Region, Win Big
To connect riders with the full Harley-Davidson network in the Black Hills, Sonic Powersports, a subsidiary of Sonic Automotive, is launching the Ride To Win Challenge, an interactive regionwide route that encourages visitors to explore all five Sonic Powersports-owned Harley-Davidson dealerships in Sturgis, Rapid City, Hill City, Deadwood, and Wall.

"We're proud to serve riders who are here for the Sturgis Rally and riding throughout the Black Hills, bringing the Harley-Davidson experience to life at every turn," said David B. Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sonic Automotive. "This experience is about creating unforgettable moments for people who live to ride, and for the 85th Rally, we plan to do just that."

Participants who visit each stop from August 1-10 will earn multiple entries into the limited-edition motorcycle drawing, with additional prizes available for those who complete the full route. The grand prize winner will be announced shortly following Rally Week at Sturgis Harley-Davidson.

The Founders Club: Recognizing the First 85 Buyers
To mark the 85th anniversary of the rally, Sturgis Harley-Davidson is also launching the Sturgis Founders Club, a unique program honoring the first 85 riders who purchase a New Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the dealership during Rally Week.

"The Founders Club celebrates not just the buyers, but their place in Harley-Davidson and Sturgis history," Smith added. "It's our way of saying thank you to the riders who define this rally every year."

Membership includes:

A custom-engraved challenge coin and exclusive patch
VIP access to the Sturgis Harley-Davidson Buyers Club at the Sturgis Rally, including private access to a cooled tent, sitting area, and food and drink throughout the Rally
The rider's name engraved in a plaque in the Sturgis Hall of Fame

Regional Ramping: Five Dealerships, One Unified Rally Experience
As the Black Hills prepare to welcome an expected 800,000 riders and enthusiasts, Sonic Powersports is turning its entire regional Harley-Davidson footprint into a rally-long celebration.

From Deadwood to the Badlands, each dealership will feature:

Rally exclusive commemorative merchandise, including limited-edition challenge coins
On-site demos, meetups, and special activations
And, of course, entry opportunities for the limited-edition bike giveaway

MILWAUKEE, July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The four-day 2025 Harley-Davidson Homecoming® Festival immersed the Milwaukee region in music and moto-culture July 10-13, drawing thousands of enthusiasts to Veterans Park, the Harley-Davidson Museum, Harley-Davidson Headquarters and Davidson Park, and to local Harley-Davidson dealerships.

The annual Harley-Davidson Homecoming® Festival represents a commitment by Harley-Davidson to its hometown community and a way to promote this vibrant region. Next year's annual Harley-Davidson Homecoming® Festival is scheduled for July 9-12, 2026, in Milwaukee.

Some key highlights of the 2025 Harley-Davidson Homecoming® Festival include:

Veterans Park on the Milwaukee Lakefront – Chris Stapleton Rocks the Main Stage
Chris Stapleton played to a sold-out crowd on the main stage following performances by additional acts including Turnpike Troubadours, Sierra Ferrell, 49 Winchester, The Droptines, ÖOF TATATÁ, and other artists to close out the event. The Monster Energy Freestyle Motocross Shows featuring pro riders Axell Hodges and Takayuki Higashino thrilled onlookers on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, due to severe weather in the area, Harley-Davidson had to end Friday's show earlier than hoped. Due to the shortened performance schedule, all 1-day Friday tickets purchased through official festival ticketing agent Front Gate Tickets will receive a full refund and all 2-day tickets purchased through Front Gate Tickets will receive a 50 percent refund.

"The decision to evacuate Veterans Park early on Friday was not made lightly, but safety is always our top priority — for our riders, our fans, and our employees," said Theo Keetell, VP of Marketing. "We knew weather would become a factor later in the evening and made the call early to ensure everyone had time to seek shelter and get off the roads safely. Protecting our community comes first, always."

The Harley-Davidson Museum/Milwaukee
On Thursday night the Harley-Davidson Museum hosted the Official Harley-Davidson Homecoming® Festival Kickoff Party and Military Appreciation Day, featuring a free concert performance by Buckcherry on the Harley-Davidson Museum Rockford Fosgate® stage. More than 15,000 motorcycles and more than 32,000 attendees visited the Harley-Davidson Museum during the run of the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival to experience the Ives Brothers Wall of Death Stunt Show, the V-Twin Visionary Custom Motorcycle Showcase and many more activities.

Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations/Menomonee Falls, Wis.
Guests enjoyed a self-guided tour of engine assembly and machining at Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations in the Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls. A wide selection of 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycles were available for free test rides.

Harley-Davidson Headquarters/Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee
A guided Juneau Avenue Historical Tour through and around the current company Headquarters that once served as the original manufacturing factory was enjoyed by guests. Juneau Avenue was also the starting point for the Women's Ride on Saturday morning in memory of "the first lady of motorcycling" Nancy Davidson and supporting the Cancer Research Institute™. Davidson Park, the outdoor community hub created by the Harley-Davidson Foundation, hosted a relaxing oasis for riders with free music, an antique motorcycle show, and lawn games.
