Last post by Biketographer - September 13, 2025, 07:01:07 AM
VALCOURT, QC, Sept. 12, 2025 /CNW/ - BRP Inc. (TSX: DOO) (NASDAQ: DOOO) just held its largest event of the year, Club BRP 2026, welcoming more than 4,100 dealers and distributors from 81 countries in person and online to attend the global reveal of BRP's 2026 Can-Am and Sea-Doo product news. During the event taking place from August 17 to 19 in Boston, Massachusetts, BRP also recognized dealers and distributors within its network for their outstanding work and launched the dealer-specific Responsible Rider Masterclass to continue promoting safe riding across the powersports industry.

Product Key Takeaways

BRP sustained its momentum in driving innovation with the launch of several industry-firsts and breakthrough, purposeful products.

BRP is expanding its global electric powersports offering with the launch of the all-new 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric. The electric all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is powered by the same in-house, modular Rotax E-Power powerpack as the Ski-Doo and Lynx electric snowmobiles launched in 2023 and the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin electric motorcycles launched in 2024.

Can-Am is changing the utility and recreational side-by-side landscape with the next generation of its Can-Am Defender. The iconic workhorse receives a ground-up overhaul, further solidifying its position as one of the most capable, versatile and reliable utility-recreational side-by-side vehicles (SSV) on the market.

Can-Am is also breaking new ground in the rest of its off-road lineup with the launch of the Outlander MAX 6x6, the Maverick R X rc and the first ATV with semi-active suspension.

On the road, Can-Am is refining the riding experience with fresh colors, more than 250 innovative accessories and new product offerings on the Can-Am Spyder, Ryker and Canyon.

Sea-Doo is ramping up personal watercraft (PWC) connectivity and boosting horsepower on its Switch pontoons. The intuitive 10.25" touchscreen is now standard equipment on the 2026 RXT-X, FishPro Trophy, Wake Pro and Explorer Pro, while the 300 hp Rotax 1630 ACE engine and a larger fuel tank are now available on certain 18' and 21' Sea-Doo Switch models.

Recognizing Top Dealers and Distributors from BRP's Global Network

While together in Boston, BRP recognized its top-of-the-line dealer and distributor network through annual awards, recognizing outstanding achievements, excellent customer service, local market share performance and overall retail success. For North America, BRP was pleased to announce the following as its 2025 Dealers of the Year for Can-Am and Sea-Doo:

National Dealer of the Year – Canada: Jean Morneau Rivière-du-Loup from Rivière-du-Loup, Québec

Sheridan Powersports was chosen as Can-Am's all-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles U.S. Dealer of the Year for their dedication to delivering a superior customer experience every day. "This award is a big deal for our team and really speaks to the hard work and passion everyone brings to the dealership every day – from sales and finance to parts and service. We're proud of what we've achieved together and we're incredibly grateful to our customers and community," says Anthony Brownlee from Sheridan Powersport.

David Baker, Vice-President, General Manager, Powersports North America, said, "We have the best retail network in the industry, hands down, and we are privileged to count on their passion to serve our customers. As the leader of the industry, our aim is to be the most customer-centric partner, elevating the ownership experience with the BRP brands, and our dealer event is about sharing this direction. It's especially a privilege of mine to recognize the top of the top through our Dealer of the Year awards and to celebrate their outstanding accomplishments together."

In addition to dealers in Canada and the U.S., BRP gave 58 awards to dealers and distributors in the Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as distributors from EMEA.

Launching the Responsible Rider Masterclass for Dealers

BRP believes that elevating customers' experience with the fundamentals of safe and responsible riding, along with protecting our playgrounds, is key to ensuring the future of powersports, and its dealer network is at the heart of this mission.

The Responsible Rider Masterclass is a free series of online training that aims to empower riders of the global powersports community to ride safely and responsibly, to look out for each other and to safeguard trails and playgrounds. Developed in partnership with Tread Lightly!, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting responsible outdoor recreation, the program first launched in early 2025 for riders worldwide.

At Club BRP 2026, BRP expanded this movement with the launch of a dealer-specific edition of the Responsible Rider Masterclass. Tailored to the business reality of BRP's dealers and distributors, these 15-minute courses cover Off-Road, Water and On-Road playgrounds, with Snow coming soon. They provide practical tools for dealer teams to drive up their customer experience, strengthen their expertise, and reinforce their leadership role in responsible recreation. By embracing the Responsible Rider Masterclass, both riders and dealers are joining forces to protect long-term access to trails, waterways and playgrounds, while building a stronger future for powersports.

VALCOURT, QC, Aug. 17, 2025 /CNW/ - BRP Inc. (TSX: DOO) (NASDAQ: DOOO) is charging ahead in its mission to electrify powersports with the launch of the all-new 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric, an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) engineered for performance, durability, and a whisper-quiet ride. This latest innovation strengthens BRP's long-term commitment to redefining the riding experience through purpose-built electric models that deliver all the excitement of combustion, but with a different, equally thrilling ride experience.

6.jpg

The Ski-Doo and Lynx electric snowmobiles deliver sustainable performance with excellent power delivery and versatility. (CNW Group/BRP Inc.)

BRP's electric lineup now includes the Can-Am Pulse and Origin motorcycles, four Ski-Doo and Lynx electric snowmobiles, the Rotax E10 racing powerpack for karts, and the Can-Am Outlander Electric, each designed to meet the needs of specific riders and applications.

"At BRP, our approach to electrification is intentional and strategic – we electrify where it makes business sense and adds real value to customers," said José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP. "The Outlander Electric is a powerful, quiet, and capable ATV that reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability. This is another important step in our journey to play a leadership role in this technological evolution and to bolster our offering with completely new experiences, electrified with our very own technology."

A Quiet Evolution: the All-New 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric
The 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric redefines utility and adventure for farmers, ranchers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Powered by the same in-house, modular Rotax E-Power powerpack as BRP's electric motorcycles and snowmobiles, this new model delivers 47 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque, with up to 50 miles of range in optimal conditions. It features instant throttle response, selectable ride modes – Normal, Sport, Work – and charges from 20 to 80% in just 50 minutes using a Level 2 charger.

What truly sets it apart is its whisper-quiet operation. Outfitted with electric power, noise-reducing XPS Recon Force tires, optimized suspension, and a low-noise cooling system, it enables a smooth riding experience that is perfect for connecting with the land and exploring nature without disturbing it. All of this, while still delivering the true Can-Am experience with industry-leading 1,830 lbs of towing capacity, impressive off-road performance, and more than 120 available accessories to deliver a fully customizable experience for any rider, in any environment.

"With the Outlander Electric, we're not just launching a new ATV, we're introducing a new way to experience the outdoors and get the job done," said Julie Tourville, Director, Global Marketing, Can-Am Off-Road at BRP. "This vehicle is built to let riders and workers feel more connected to their surroundings. It's powerful, quiet, and true to what we do at BRP. It shows how we bring purposeful innovation to life."

One Year In: Can-Am Electric Motorcycles
A full year after the official launch of the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin, BRP's reentry into the motorcycle market has been met with enthusiasm. Supported by a global network of 265 dealers (and growing), these all-electric motorcycles are designed for urban riders and dual-sport explorers, and they introduce new levels of ease of use and design to the category.

The motorcycles are powered by BRP's 8.9 kWh liquid-cooled battery system, delivering up to 100 miles (160 km) of range in the city and 0-60 mph acceleration in under four seconds. Rider feedback has been positive, praising the torque-rich experience, smooth handling, and quiet confidence they bring to the road and trail.

Electrifying the Snow: Ski-Doo and Lynx Lead the Way
In 2023, BRP introduced its first electric snowmobiles under the Ski-Doo and Lynx brands. Today, four electric models – designed initially for tour operators, ski centers, and resorts – are now available to consumers, offering zero-emission access to the backcountry. Early adoption from outfitters through BRP's Uncharted Society curated adventure network has helped BRP refine its platforms while delivering real-world performance in some of the world's best playgrounds.

BRP: The Electrification Leader in Powersports
BRP stands alone as the powersports OEM with the most electric models across the most categories. Each of BRP's electric vehicles is designed around the application, whether that's quiet snow travel, nimble commuting, or hardworking ranch chores. This breadth reflects BRP's deep understanding of its global customer base and where vehicle innovations will maximize value to them.

With development centers in Valcourt, Quebec, Canada and Gunskirchen, Austria, and assembly across Mexico and Finland, BRP is the only powersports OEM with a fully integrated in-house modular electric powertrain spanning battery pack, inverter, motor, charger, and control software. This strategy gives BRP unmatched agility, performance and charging consistency, and the ability to scale electrification in the long term.

Motorcycle Talk / Review: Shake Rider Cushion se...
Last post by Biketographer - August 26, 2025, 06:17:02 PM
55.webp

Just received a set of these (rider + passenger) cushions.  Here are my comments.

The website is done in excellent English.  The contact address is in Wyoming.  But these cushions were shipped directly from china.  45 day satisfaction guarantee ?  You ever try to return something to the communists?  At least I did not get hit with a surprise import duty.

Anyway, the cushions feel great.  I think they are silicone because they flex, move, and wobble, exactly like my ex's boob job.  The ex never let me sit on her boobs so I can not be sure.  Using the seat cushion as a pillow last night felt like sleeping with my head on her chest.

I think they will not feel hot.  I can not describe the design, but in the photos you can see numerous cavities to let heat out.  Also, it looks like rain will go right through the cushion and not puddle up in your pants.

The sizes are appropriate.  I think I am going to like them a lot (I might end up liking them.)

I do not like how they are attached to my H-D Pan American.  You can see the elastic straps that are to hold them on.  But I have to admit that I do not have any better ideas.  They look to be well made and designed straps, and easy to adjust.

BUT the rear seat cushion strap 'wants' to be positioned so that it goes across / through the watertight underseat compartment where I keep my registration and proof of insurance.  Not a big problem, just do not put the rear strap of the passenger pad on until I have re-installed the seat, then I can slide it under the back of the seat without it interfering with the under-seat compartment.

Kaching-Bundles-6.webp
passenger cushion

The front pad installed easy enough.  Before installing it, I checked to see if it would mess up any of the wiring under there, I think it will be fine.

ack.....  where are the photos I took?  I will find them and post them soon.  These photos are from their website.  https://shakerider.com/products/backrest-rider-cushion

Electric Motorcycles and Scooters / Fastport eQuad, from Honda
Last post by Biketographer - August 08, 2025, 03:15:28 PM
OKYO, Aug. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Honda today announced that the Fastport eQuad, an all-electric micromobility vehicle for last-mile delivery, has won the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2025 award in the Design Concept competition of the Red Dot Design Award*1. Moreover, two electric motorcycle concept models, the EV Fun Concept and the EV Urban Concept, were each named a Red Dot winner in the same competition, and the concept movie for the Honda V3 motorcycle engine, titled "New V3 Engine Concept Teaser," was named the Red Dot winner in the Brand & Communication Design competition.

Fastport_eQuad.jpg

The Fastport eQuad was designed for use in bicycle lanes, enabling companies to improve the efficiency of logistics.

The Fastport eQuad, an all-electric micromobility vehicle for last-mile delivery, has won the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2025 award in the Design Concept category.

•Fastport eQuad
The Fastport eQuad is a single-rider micromobility delivery vehicle that supplements the rider's pedaling power with electric motor assistance. The Fastport eQuad realizes a powerful, smooth, quiet and zero-emission ride by combining a pedal-by-wire system, which electronically transmits the rider's pedaling input to the driving force, with a pedal-assist powertrain, which boosts the rider's pedaling with electric power. Honda designed the Fastport eQuad as a micromobility vehicle for use in bicycle lanes*2, enabling companies to improve the speed and efficiency of logistics in urban areas with complex traffic environments and heavy traffic congestion. Full-scale mass production of the Fastport eQuad is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 at a U.S. Honda facility using domestic and globally made parts.

<Key design features>
The Fastport eQuad not only features a sleek design, but it is also thoughtfully engineered to ensure harmony with the environments where it will be used. While using a bicycle as a motif, the design effectively incorporates transparent materials to enable the rider to intuitively recognize pedestrians and other road conditions in the surrounding area. The clear windshield ensures excellent visibility for the rider while also providing a view of the rider from the outside. A translucent cargo container was adopted to reduce the visual volume of the Fastport eQuad.

•EV Fun Concept
The EV Fun Concept is Honda's first electric sports model and is being developed as a next-generation electric motorcycle that offers a new sensation of quiet riding and an emotional feeling unique to electric motorcycles. In addition to the high level of "riding, turning, and stopping" created by long-developed Honda motorcycle technologies, the new quiet, vibration-free ride that is only possible with electric power and the slim, easy-to-manage chassis package realized by its fixed battery will provide a new emotional experience that is very different to internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles. The production model based on this concept model will be a naked sports model equivalent to a mid-sized (ICE) motorcycle and is scheduled to go on sale before the end of the current fiscal year (ending March 31, 2026) as the first Honda electric sports model equipped with a fixed battery.

<Key design features>
The EV Fun Concept features a slim and seamless design that expresses its quiet yet overwhelming acceleration and sporty riding performance. By reducing the volume of the area where a gas tank would have been for an ICE model, a dynamic and horizontally-oriented silhouette was realized. The EV Fun Concept was designed as a bike that is not bound by existing motorcycle categories. The functional beauty was highlighted through the combination of a sleek body and mechanical functional parts.

•EV Urban Concept
The EV Urban Concept reimages Honda's vision for urban electric mobility. Featuring an intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) and the fusion of software and hardware, the EV Urban Concept offers a new experience for riders. Honda aims to offer the freedom of mobility to as many customers as possible and expand possibilities in each customer's life through enhanced mobility.

<Key design features>
Based on the design direction for Honda electric motorcycles — "Precision of Intrinsic Design" — the design team strived to create an essential and exquisite styling design realized by refining the functionality. Featuring minimalist and sophisticated styling that blends in with the urban landscape, the EV Urban Concept offers a new UX through the fusion of software and hardware, embodying the Honda vision of near-future mobility that cooperates and resonates with people and society.

•Honda V3 motorcycle engine with an electrical compressor
In order to create attractive motorcycle products that go beyond customer expectations, Honda is developing the world's first*3 V3 motorcycle engine with an electrical compressor.  By controlling compression of the intake air irrespective of engine rpm, high-response torque can be delivered even from lower rpm. In addition, adopting an engineering design that eliminates the need for an intercooler to cool the compressed air enables a high degree of freedom for component layout within the limited space available on a motorcycle. This flexibility can be leveraged to achieve a concentration of the mass and reduction of the vehicle weight.

<Key features of the concept movie, "New V3 Engine Concept Teaser">
The concept movie showcases the journey of technological innovation Honda has pursued through continuous challenges in the field of motorcycle technologies, as well as the development process for the world's first V3 motorcycle engine with an electrical compressor. With a rhythmically structured narrative, the movie deliberately incorporates glitch effects that momentarily disrupt the visuals to spark curiosity and build anticipation. In the final scene, the actual sound of the electric compressor is used to convey a sense of excitement and momentum of the development toward the practical application to products and evoke high expectations for the future riding experiences this engine will offer. To powerfully express the "genuine commitment of Honda to carve out the future," all individuals featured are real Honda engineers. Through authentic footage capturing countless discussions and repeated prototyping at the development site, the movie production team aimed to convey the passion and ambition Honda put into the development.

Motorcycle Talk / Review: Motorcycle Tire Changi...

This chinese made tire changing work table is sold under many brand names.

I recently bought one and thought people might be interested in my experiences.

30 years of racing and never used one of these.  That meant that putting the rear wheel on the ground would get serious scratches on the rotor and sprocket.  Plus fighting the wheel trying to get away from me.  I used C-clamps to knock down the bead.

This thing makes tire changing so much easier.  Not as pleasant as a 'real' tire changing machine, but it was thousands $ cheaper.

Remove the large wing-nut, set the wheel on the 'table'.  Adjust the wedge-thing that will push down the bead.  This can accomodate quite a range of wheel sizes.  Push the lever slowly to push the bead down.  Rotate the wheel a bit, push bead down, repeat until the bead is all the way off.
With trial-and-error, I found that I like the wedge to be on a bit of an angle, not perpendicular like in these images.  I settled on a maybe 20 degree angle away from straight vertical.  In these photos, move the wedge adjustment a little to the right.  So the wedge wants to keep itself against the wheel as you push down.  Too much angle, and you will not be able to push the wedge.
I suppose that the best angle might vary with wheel type and tire types.

Flip the wheel over and knock down the bead on the other side.
In my case, the 'axle' was not long enough to install the wingnut, but I found out it was not necessary.
Once you have the beads knocked down, use your favorite 'tire spoons' to remove the tire.  Using this table made this task much easier than the job with the wheel on the garage floor.
It also makes installing the new tire so much easier.
These things are darn cheap and come un-assembled.  The included directions are only a little helpful; the photographs are much more informative for assembly.

Next project:  A wheel balancing jig.  I will not tell you the horror stories of the methods I have been using.
