Last post by Biketographer - November 29, 2025, 12:39:47 PM
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaris Off Road, the leader in off-road vehicle innovation, and LOEB FrayMédia Motorsport announces a five-rider lineup for the 2026 Dakar Rally. Led by back-to-back champions Brock Heger and Xavier De Soultrait, Polaris RZR Factory Racing is primed to chase its third-straight Dakar Rally championship.

7897.jpg

With the launch of the SSV1 category, Polaris RZR Factory Racing will field two machines. To compete in SSV1, Polaris engineered an all-new race machine from the ground up to take on the new class. This dual-platform strategy underscores Polaris' commitment to innovation, durability, and race-proven engineering across every level of elite off-road competition. Drivers competing in the T4 category will be armed with the proven RZR Pro R Factory, the same platform that delivered historic victories in 2024 and 2025.

"Dakar represents the ultimate test of vehicle performance and team resilience, and our goal for 2026 is simple – defend our title while demonstrating the full strength of Polaris' innovation," said Alex Scheuerell, Director of Off-Road Motorsports, Polaris. "With two Dakar champions leading our five-driver lineup, and the debut of our all-new race platform, we're entering the rally more prepared and more ambitious than ever."

The 2026 Polaris RZR Factory Race team combines championship pedigree and rising talent.

Brock Heger (SSV1) — Heger is the reigning 2025 Dakar Champion, 2025 SCORE Series Champion, and a proven off-road racer recognized for his smooth driving style, race IQ, and unwavering consistency across multiple disciplines.
Xavier De Soultrait (SSV1) — De Soultrait is the 2024 Dakar Champion, whose transition from elite motorcycle competition to SSVs has highlighted his adaptability and racecraft. His calm, methodical approach under pressure makes him one of rally-raid's most respected and reliable talents.
Goncalo Guerreiro (SSV1) — Guerreiro is a rising Portuguese rally-raid driver whose JB Racing roots and early championship success have quickly positioned him as one of the most promising young talents.
Johan Krisstoffersson (T4) — Kristoffersson is a multi-time World Rallycross Champion and elite all-surface racer, recognized globally for his precision, versatility, and unmatched consistency.
Florent Vayssade (T4) — Vayssade is a seasoned French rally-raid competitor whose path from elite kayaking to motorcycles and now SSV racing reflects his deep endurance background and adaptability. He brings proven Dakar experience and a steady, disciplined approach to the Polaris program.

Each driver will be paired with experienced co-drivers, supported by LOEB FrayMédia Motorsport, and Polaris engineers – maximizing performance, reliability, and stage-to-stage strategy throughout the duration of the Dakar Rally.

Polaris' entry into Dakar's newly created SSV1 category ushers in the Pro R Rally, designed specifically to meet international racing requirements. The new platform was engineered specifically for the demands of Dakar's diverse, wide open terrain. Vehicle highlights include the following:

DYNAMIX semi-active suspension: Tuned in-house by Polaris engineers specifically to tackle Dakar's brutal terrain.
Full MoTeC engine management and data acquisition: Offer drivers pro-level control and real-time intel in the harshest conditions.
Sleek side-intake scoops: Improve airflow to engine and cooling system and double as number plates
Full carbon-fiber dash and windshield frame: Reduce weight while adding serious race-car rigidity and feel.
FiA-homologated race cage: Engineered and tested to handle Dakar-level abuse and keep drivers protected when things get wild.

With championship experience, expanded vehicle capability, and one of the deepest driver lineups in the field, Polaris RZR Factory Racing and the LOEB FrayMédia Motorsport team enters the 2026 Dakar Rally with clear aspirations: push the limits of off-road performance and chase a third consecutive victory in the world's most demanding desert race.

Racing Discussion / AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series Sc...
Last post by Biketographer - November 24, 2025, 11:15:49 AM
PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Nov. 21, 2025) — The American Motorcyclist Association announced that the AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series — now, the AMA National Hard Enduro Championship — will be a national championship series starting in 2026.

With events spanning from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, the AMA National Hard Enduro Championship is one of the largest off-road racing series in the United States.

"The AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series has been a terrific partner of the AMA for years, and we are happy to have them aboard as an AMA national championship series," AMA Off-Road Racing Manager Logan Densmore said. "We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with the series, and allowing racers all across the country opportunities to compete for AMA National No. 1 plates."

The AMA National Hard Enduro Championship has awarded three championships during this season, with the USHE Premier Championship, the AMA West Hard Enduro Series and the AMA East Hard Enduro Series titles all being awarded in 2025. The West and East regional championships will also remain in place in 2026 and beyond.

In 2026, the AMA National Hard Enduro Championship will award its national champions at the Tennessee Knockout Enduro, which will also mark the final round of the impending season.

"U.S. Hard Enduro is honored to achieve AMA National Championship status, as the USHE management, promoters, clubs, teams, and racers across the country have been working hard to help grow Hard Enduro here in North America," AMA National Hard Enduro Championship promoter Matt Musgrove said. "The Hard Enduro community is amazing, as every racer is challenging their physical and mental limits, while riding dirt bikes in some of the most beautiful corners of the United States. We would like to give a special thanks to our friends at the Red Bull Tennessee Knockout, the longest-running hard enduro in North America, for being such a central part of this AMA National Championship and progressing the sport in so many ways."

The AMA National Hard Enduro Championship will kick off at the King of the Motos in Johnson Valley, Calif., on January 24-25.

AMA Pro Racing Announces 2026 Progressive American Flat Track Schedule
Sixteen-round season ushers in expanded class structure, a rebuilt amateur-to-pro talent ladder, and new marquee events as AFT realigns with modern Class C principles

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 20, 2025) – AMA Pro Racing announced today its 16-round schedule for the 2026 Progressive American Flat Track season. Fresh off one of the most compelling Grand National Championships in recent memory, the series is leaning into what made the '25 campaign great and building upon that momentum via some spectacular additions, including new events, venues, classes, and initiatives.

The 2026 season will again launch with a string of five successive Short Tracks, delivering another fast, unpredictable opening to the championship. The run begins during DAYTONA Bike Week with the Royal Enfield Short Track at DAYTONA, back-to-back nights of AFT Nationals at Daytona International Speedway, with the opening round on Thursday, March 5.

However, the excitement actually arrives in earnest a day earlier, with the launch of the Road to AFT and the first of seven Mission Foods CTR Showcase Events held in conjunction with American Flat Track Nationals. Operated by Cory Texter Race Promotions, these AMA-sanctioned events will showcase amateur flat track racing on the day prior to select Progressive AFT Nationals. This strategic alliance around the Road to AFT will anchor the sport's talent pipeline in premium amateur racing events and provide a clear path from amateur to pro competition.

91575cf2.jpg

The AFT AdventureTrackers™ class returns with an expanded slate for 2026. The quick success of the production-based class found immediate support from motorcycle manufacturers and paved the way for an all-new category: AFT StreetTrackers™. Built around lightly-modified, production-based twin-, triple-, and four-cylinder motorcycles, the new class draws inspiration from the sport's Class C roots by creating a clear, retail-connected platform for motorcycle manufacturers and dealers to re-engage with the sport.

"These additions are intended to realign the sport with the core principles that powered the growth and success of the Grand National Championship for decades," said Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. "The Road to AFT reestablishes the critical link between amateur and pro, reinvigorating the feeder system for the professional ranks. The introduction of AFT StreetTrackers will open marketing lanes for the motorcycle industry to invest in the sport with clear, measurable ROI. The 2026 schedule will be a showcase for what the sport truly is: the authentic American motorcycle racing product built on Class C values: approachability, availability and affordability."

Along with the series' annual stops at such storied events as the Lima Half-Mile and the 79th Peoria TT, the 2026 calendar includes a pair of novel entries. On Saturday, May 16, the fabled Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland, will host ThrottleFest, a combined moto-and-music festival with four days of motorcycle racing. Featuring pro-am hair scrambles, motocross, endurocross, pit bike racing and Progressive American Flat Track headlining the show, ThrottleFest will set a new gold standard in two-wheel entertainment.

On Saturday, June 6, the series makes its long-awaited return to Tennessee with the inaugural Nashville Short Track at Billy Lane's Tennessee National Raceway. The event will also host the public debut of the Northern Tool + Equipment Legends Build: Student Challenge motorcycle—a nine-month project where high school CTE students are transforming a 2025 Harley-Davidson Nightster into an XR750-inspired flat track racer under the mentorship of Scott Parker, Chris Carr, Kenny Coolbeth Jr., Billy Lane, and other icons of the sport.

The Triple Challenge—AFT's escalating endurance and points-intensity format—returns after its 2025 debut. The format will be featured at the opening night of the Lima Half-Mile doubleheader on Friday, June 26, and again at Springfield Mile I on Saturday, September 5. Each race increases in distance, difficulty, and points value, testing riders' race-craft and stamina.

The Springfield Mile Doubleheader on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, will again close the season, restoring the sport's crown jewel as the decisive weekend for the Grand National Championship.

The official 2026 Progressive American Flat Track schedule follows:

  • March 5, 2026 - Royal Enfield Short Track at DAYTONA I, Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL (CTR Showcase Event on March 4)
