Title: What Body Work Should I use?
Post by: gsxrsrad1000 on February 02, 2005, 04:47:58 AM
Hello all, I am just a newbie about to join the CCS circuit so I can try and be like the rest of you all  ;D  Just wondering about Body work.  I read in the CCS rules that your body work has to bolt up in at least 3 places.  Does this mean that you can use the stock fairings?  I also read that Suzuki Bikes have to remove the bottom half for the tech inspector.  If that is the case then the bottom half would mean that the person had "Race Fairings" right?  What about if a person used stock fairings and just took them off completly for the tech inspector to see the bottom half?  Would that be acceptable?

Lastly, I was reading the differences between all the racing classes, but I am confused.  I am entering CCS as an Ameture and I will be riding a 03 Gsxr 1000, can someone tell me real quick what Races Classes I can compete in?  Sorry if these topics have been touched on but the search function on this forum sucks!!! :-X

yup that's what I meant, I changed it.  Thanks for the link, did you not have advice towards the questions I asked?  Not sure if you did not know of over looked them?  I am checking the link out now.  Something tells me that your hinting that I should just get race plastics.

If you run stock plastics you will need some way of creating a fluid-retaining belly pan.  This can be done with stock plastics through modification of the existing lowers or by adding another piece that sits inside of the stock lowers.  Pretty much a pain in either case.

As far as removing the lower for tech, this is only so the tech inspector can see that the oil filter and drain plug are safety wired.  I've seen people cut holes in the bodywork to allow visability of the safety wireing, this is OK as long as the holes are high enough to not affect the fluid retaining capability of the lower.
