Or it's likely that someone that they know who has Absolute Cycle in their address book, and it's using their address to send it.

OmniGLH's address sent me some stuff last week.

Reply back Dan...

Mac's and viruses...

I have a Mac...don't really get them, that affect my Mac.  Maybe it's Dan's work PC?  Ask him?

I had that happen to me some time ago. Had a lot of angry people thinking I was sending out porn. Aol contacted me to let me know what the situation was. It happens form time to time. But it really sucked!

The sender is  ABSOLTEPRFRMNCE@aol.com and the TO: field shows Kazu79@aol.com so they BCC"d me I suppose.  I did reply back, twice.  First time I was polite.  5 minutes and 12 emails later, I wasn't too nice.

Nah, my work PC doesn't get connected to the internet.  It's a standalone.   All this is on the Mac.   None of the messages contain a virus or attachment, so my .mac membership didn't stop them from coming thru.

Dan...

Let it go.  Sheesh!

So you got a bunch of e-mails, press delete and be done with it.

 ;D Thanks Mike  ;D

I guess it originated as a techy, nerdy, geeky sort of thing.  BUT it's very useful.

Think I'll toss "PEBCAK" in a few sentences at my next couple meetings.  Part 'cause it'll be true and part for fun. 8)

If you receive spam NEVER EVER reply to it. They then KNOW that it's a valid email address. Instead, contact the administrator for your ISP and the one it supposed came from. Spoof email is easy to send.

And this is an internet issue, not a MAC vs PC issue.

Now back to our comic relief...

Absolute Cycle Apologizes for the amount of emails you received. Last night we did send out a mass email. Your email address was stored possibly from an email or sale through us. I contacted Aol, and also checked the email for virus and found none. We try not to send out more than 3 emails a year like this, we do hope those who received it got some good info, and our thanks. We received to date 1 request to remove and it was granted. Please email us direct or call roy at the number below if i can help you with any further questions. Again we apologize for any aggravation this may have caused you and we are looking for an answer as to why this happened.
