Title: Finding Spyke Leathers
Post by: russ1962 on October 25, 2004, 01:58:02 PM
Anyone...   anyone..  Bueller...   anyone ....

I'm having trouble finding a place to buy Spyke leathers.  I've checked their website ( http://www.spyke.it/ ) and, while it's cool, there seems to be nothing but robots and cobwebs behind it.  I've been emailing them for weeks with no response.

Does anyone know where one might buy Spyke leathers?

Thanks in advance,

Russ

Sheesh, all I had to do was "let" her call it a costume.   She caved right in.

Oh, and I also had to dance around in the driveway wearing a pink tutu.

She also wants to cut the buns out of my other costume, kinda  Prince-style.

She's such a race supporter.

No, they will not pass tech, you have to have the original "airbox".  :o ;) ;D

<--- putting on his thinking cap now...

Ok, but what if I use my tutu to hide the mods?  This way, none of the other guys will try to get fresh with me.

Alexa, can you make the new mods adjustable, like, a trap door on old long johns?

I almost hate to mention that the way Larry likes to check for stock air filters on SV's is to put 2 fingers into the intake to see if the size has been modified! :o

Not quite sure what technique he would use for verification on this one! ;D

I picked up a Spyke 4-Race suit from Kimpex last year.  If you are lucky they might still have some.  Word is that Spyke isn't selling into the US market any longer so you might be SOL.  :-[

Shame, I really like my suit and was thinking about getting another.

I'm sponsored by Kimpex.  They stopped importing Spyke last year.  I've not been able to find them anywhere since Kimpex dropped them. Except England...very available there. :(

There are probably a few here if you search the web real hard.  :)

Have you ever thought about giving RS-Taichi a try?  I used Spyke 2 years ago and was'nt happy with the way they held up.  Our team of 4 riders all used Spyke and had similar issues.  We all switched to RS-Taichi's and LOVE them.  If interested give Rob at Lithium Motorsports a call,  he is one of their largest dealers in the USA.  (712)546-7747

I'll look at them now...  I'm shying away from Spyke now since they seem impossible to find.

Also looking at Dainese.

Thanks for the tip.

Personally, I wear Vanson Costumes and, during my extensive testing programs for many years, they perform rather well.

Don't wear leathers prepared for a train wreck...

Be the train wreck... 8)

I know this is an old topic, but I'm so excited.

A BIG box arrived at my office today, and it's from Kneedraggers.com.  It MUST be my new costume.

I am sooooo stoked.  I'm gonna be dreaming of leaning into turns wearing cool new colors, always in front of Lonny of course.

Jill told me if I opened it up early, she'll cut off my tool.

Lonny, please come to my office and open this box.

Nothing quite like trying on new leathers in the middle of winter and having to wait till the season gets here. You should just put them on and go sit on the bike and try to drag your knee while at a standstill while making "vroomm, vrooom" noises...

You can always say that the box was opened up by the cleaning crew by mistake to see if it was garbage!

Russ I would come open it , but Palatine, IL  is to far to drive because I still have to go Christmas shopping.

So you have to wait  till Christmas.

AND it is good that you know its a dream to be in front of me :P :o
