How did Firebird go? Who was all out there and did anyone beat Mark's record?
there was very low turn out, even compared to the first round there. It was VERY hot with the first day above 95 and the second day even hotter. I crashed out of the Amateur Unlimited GP and because of that crash (and the ambulance being tied up with the aftermath of the crashes -- there were 4) the Expert GP was red flagged (SORRY about that guys!). That's all I remember from the races so I cannot tell you who won in your classes, what the times were like, or anything. The announcer did say that times were down about 1.5 seconds slower at one point. A lot of the fast guys were missing.
Matt Hartlieb did a 1:00.7 in the Unlimited Race and there really wasn't anyone too close to him. I think the next closest was maybe Ivan Garza doing high 1:01s.
Pretty sure Matt had more if he needed it. On both the start and re-start he got the holeshot and gapped the field. He needed the CA guys there!
