Title: Lap Timers?
Post by: Aprilia_RSVR on May 30, 2004, 06:34:41 PM
Hi
Could someone give me the basics on lap timers?  How they are set up?  Will my receiver work with your beacon?  When buying a timer does the beacon come with it?  Recommendations?  Brands?
Please, don't be too vague because I am an idiot.
Thanks,
Rich

Rich-

You can get anything from a plain laptimer to fancy ones that replace the entire instrument cluster with a tach, etc.

The two most popular timers are Mychron and XT.  Both timers will work with either beacon.

Give me a call (319-360-9913) if you want a complete description of features, how they work, and their construction.  Too much to type here.

I have owned both and recommend the XT.  I got mine from www.10bomb.com .   He treated me well.

Also, incase you don't know or don't remember, your RSVR has a built in lap timer.  I don't remember how to use it, but you have to start and stop the clock.  It isn't tripped by a beacon.

I have an XT and love it.  Never had a Mychron.

Thanks to both of you.  Took your advice and bought the XT from www.10Bomb.com.  He was very helpful.
I do remember that lap timer on the Aprilia but, this is for an SV.
Thanks,
