I own a Ducati 998R and am interested in racing it in CCS. I'm looking at the Heavyweight SuperSport or maybe Formula 40.
I see the rules state that the bikes must either be production machines sold by manufacturers and their dealers for street use in North America or on a list of non-standard approved models that are not sold for street use in North America.
Is the 998R on that list? or does it just count as a 998? or can I not run it?
Good question, I would email CCS about it directly, or call.
I emailed Kevin Elliot twice but have not heard back from him yet.
Can anyone give me a name and phone number to call to find out about this
John,
It's legal for both of those classes.
It is also legal for Super Twins and Heavy Weight Super Bike. Bring it own out.
Did you ever get an answer on the legality for SuperSport?
The R versions are road-legal in every other country except the US (yes, I know the rule book says North America).
So, does anyone know if the R on the exceptions list before I try chasing CCS? How does one get to see this 'list'?
SlowDragon, if you place ahead of me in any race, then it is illegal. However, if you consistently finish behind me, then it is VERY legal.
Hope that clears things up for you. ;D
Ha! They'll find out about that ZX1500R at some point. By the way, don't you run Pirelli's ?
Shhhhh......... ;) Pirellis suck. Stay away from them.........................................NOT! ;D
Did you call Freddie Spencer yet?
For a pre-Vegas trackday? No, I haven't had the energy since helping to arrange the last one :-/ I'll keep ya posted
No worries man. Just messin' with ya as always.

Absolutely illegal! In fact, you need to dispose of it before the authorities find you and punish you to the full extent of the law. I am a licensed 998R removal specialist and will be glad to pick it up at no cost. See you soon.
