Title: Defeating SV650 sidestand switch
Post by: tigerblade on March 08, 2004, 07:23:16 AM
Can I just unplug it or does it have to be hardwired?  TIA...

If it is like a GSX-R, the two wires have to be connected.

No Problem.  If it is a green plug with two wires, it is probably just like a GSX-R.  Also, obviosly the 'correct' way to do it would be to solder the two wires.  However, my buddies and I just use a scotch-lock.  We have never had any problems and it allows you to not cut any wires.  This makes it easier when converting back to street, if that is what you choose to do.

I'm planning on this bike not going back to street.  I think the less I care about it and the less I try to keep it "nice", the faster I'll be.   ;D

You should bypass it at the relay harness, not at the switch connector itself. This will prevent a possible relay failure or fuse problem later.
