QuoteHey, J Geils band was cool! And the flip side of the 45 was a surprise hit! :)
I liked J Geils...but that wasn't it..It was from some one-hit-wonder band.
Wasn't it Tommy Tutone or something like that?
(I'm not old, just full of useless trivia.)
Dawn, see what you get for posting your #? :o ;) ;D
BTW I'm working, can't you see, so don't call me. ;D
I googled it... It was Tommy Tutone. I loved that song, that and the Bangles, Walk Like an Egyptian.
I know, I'll shut up now & go back to looking at Delorian's on Ebay ;)
Wow, I was right. That kinda makes me sad. ??? :-[
yeah, I guess I was thinking of Centerfold and Freeze Frame. I'm so old my memory doesn't even work...

QuoteJenny said she didn't know who you were.... But I think I got a date. ;D
god i hate that song. not to make some pople feel "old" (word of wisdom-you are only as old as you percieve you are ;)), but i dont think i was even born when that song came out...(*checking date...), nope... 1981... about 4 years too far back.
i would say the best absolute song of the 80's was "she blinded me with science" by thomas dolby...

(ya gotta love the 80's. they're the roots of all gothic, techno, and industrial music!)
Now I'm not only admitting my age but giving away that I was a freak...
Anyone remember,
Dead Kennedy's
Sex Pistols
Dead Milkmen
Violent Femme's
At least in the 80s good hygene was popular.
;)
You all are "bringing me over" man. OK...what movie is that from?? ;D ;D ;D ;D More useless 80's trivia.

Wasn't "Bitchin' Camaro" by the Dead Milkmen?
My high school/early college girlfriend was into Violent Femmes.

Oh and I think Rick Springfield has his own Vegas show now... ::)

Ohhh....
I don't watch soap operas. Its the same plot over, and over and over again. Too boring and too sappy. ::)
The one thing I'm concerned about is the Rob940 knows about this.... Himmm - could that be telling us something.
Dawn ;D

apparently, one of the guys from the Violent Femmes went to my school. My menopausal AP history teacher was always talking about how he was in her class way back in the day (as she would slide an ice pack down her shirt and across her chest in her classroom with the windows open in the middle of winter!!! drinking "water" aka vodka) lol.
-jennifer
Did not need this thread today...now I'm back feeling old again...lol. Remember "The Reflex" by Duran Duran? Loved that song. Then I can remember how excited when we got our first CD player and our firts CD...Bon Jovie, Slippery When Wet. That was about 15 years ago, I guess...lol. I also have a lot of 45's in a box somewhere. ;D

I had a college professor that went to high school with Pantera.
In case anyone wants to look out their window. The moon is about 3/4th's covered. It's kinda spooky look'n
Dawn :)
Where are all of the metal heads ???
Pantera.....they were probably one of the best bands of the 80's
Other favorites: Slayer, King Diamond, Anthrax, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Testament, Metallica (great back then), Suicidal Tendencies and lets not forget Megadeth :o
I choose not to remember the 80's. ;D
Dawn :)
By the way, the moon is completely covered now. It's a sort of dusty pink color. Wierd.

Pantera? HA!!! Funk dat!! PARLIAMENT RULES!!!! ;D Then again, I still listen to 70's and 80's music. ;D ;D
In Heather's screechy voice......
"Punk rock girl, give me a chance
let's go slam dance
we'll travel round the world
just you and me punk rock girl........"
That's about as hardcore as I get.
I'm on a big ol' 50 Cent kick now....

OK Jack - How much for a 5x7 of each of the moon shots?
Dawn ;)
Free for you. I should be able to fit all three on a 5x8. Sound OK? I'm out of town so I'll send it to you next week. E-mail me your address.

Thanks Jack! You're the best!
We should be at MAM and BHF the next few weekends, but I will e-mail you our address.
Thanks again!
Dawn ;D
Yeah, e-mail me. I wont be at MAM or Blackhawk, unless you're going to the Super Dave's Visionsports school.
OK, waded through my e-mail and got yours....
Yer not gonna be at BHF?! Dang! I REALLY was hoping for some good shots. I'll have to talk to Stumpy's wife.
Well, what BHFs ARE you gonna be at? I saw your sched said that you would be at May 10-11, but you obviously couldn't make it, because of a wedding, right? So, out of curiousity, which ones will you be at?
Check the schedule.
http://www.sliderphoto.com/schedule
Nate, I never said I'd be there May 10-11. The dates in red I am NOT going to make.
lbk's (Dave #724) wife takes pics too.
Nate, Stumpy's Wife (me) has a $35 point 'n shoot with a little zoom APS camera which of 2 rolls of film I got 2 decent shots-----eeesh-----I'm a disaster------unless Stumpy springs for that digital camera I've been dropping hints about every then and again ;D. I do well with digital!
So, bottom line, pictures I take of you will be scary, blurry, and you'll be lucky if they're even of you!!!!! But I can try... ;)
Tell Stumpy to get a Best Buy card and CHARGE IT! ;D
Ummmmmmm we just got a Target and a SuperWalMart here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan....do you really think we have a Best Buy?????::)
Actually, I frequent Bestbuy.com so perhaps I'll just have to go a-lookin again. Father's Day is coming up--Stumpy would love for me to get a camera for Father's Day
<-------------(He's a father to a wiener dog)
I have a Fuji 3800(?) that was better quality and less money than some of the bigger names. It takes decent videos, with the high quality setting going for 60 seconds and the low for 200 seconds, has 6X optical zoom, etc. I think with (2) 128 mB cards, the camera, a nice carrying bag, and everything, I spent under $700...whereas the Sony's, etc with less optical and digital zoom, shorter or no movie capapbilities, were almost that much for jsut the camera. And if you do buy it, you don't need the second 128 mB card unless you need to take more than like 300 pictures and 10 movies at once. I got suckered by the sales guy there...lol. Good luck. Hope this helps. :)
Stumpy's Wife: That's alright, I thought you had something better. I thought it was you who took many shots, but I was thinking of lbk's wife.
LBK: What kind of camera/lens does your wife have?
Since Jack won't be there, me and Jennifer will probably take a lot of pics June 1. We'll see if I can afford it, but I'd like to take a few rolls that day.
:-/
We've got a Canon AE-1 SLR with a 50mm, and a 100-200 mm telephoto lens. Well, since Jennifer will probably call me on this, :P it's hers, but I've been borrowing it from her for a photo class, and for random pics.
Speaking of which, I have a few pics from the April BHF. I'll upload them.
Anyone want me to get some shots of them in particular on Sunday at the next BHF?
Nate - I was wondering why you would ask me! I thought it was kinda funny :). Yes, lbk's wife's pics were awesome!!!!!!!!

I have a Canon AE-1P also. It was bought in 82 and still takes pictures perfectly. But I am looking for the motor drive for it so I can get 7 shots a sec. ;D Nice thing about them is, unlike new 35mm SLR's and digital cameras, the AE-1 will still work with dead batteries. ;D

Aww cmon, Jennifer. ::)
Rob, the only prob with the one we got, (which we got off of EBay) is that when taking pics at 1/1000, the picture turns out very dark on the extreme left of the picture, indicating a shutter problem on the right side? I dunno, I think maybe the shutter timing might be off a bit, or the shutter curtain spring is weak/misaligned, or something like that.
So far, though, it's taken some great photos.
