OK, just because I am sitting around, bored off my ass- drinking some In-bev Light, surfing the net, and losing to sniping bitches on E-Bay, I thought I'd ask how everyone came up with their screen names, and also how they came up with their race numbers.
"Skiandclimb" -Used to be a snow skiing instructor (PSIA) and rock climbing instructor....way long ago!
"730" -It's my wedding anniversary. My old # was 364....like the old Dunlop D364. Dammit- I just dated myself.
So- post up, kids.

Gigolo has been my nickname since I was in grade school, even before I knew what it meant. Its a play off my last name. My number last year was 428 thats my wifes b-day, all of my kids, and wife were born on the 28th, and I wanted that number this year, but a fellow hairy paisan wont give it up. This year its 32 cause that was the lowest number. I was tired of fitting three numbers on my bike.
Sitting around bored.
I've been a Tugboat Captain for many years.
#96, born the 6th. day of the 9th. month, slightly backwards but close enough.
Had to have a #2 in front of 96 for CCS, previous #'s
9, 6, 143, 43, 155, 55, permission from Roger Rieman for US Endurance, {RIP} and 299 at Daytona once when some dude from GP region pre-entered before me, even though it was my region they said?
My Screen name is my name - and my CCS racing # this season is 61 in both CCS and ASRA... I got tired of having to change my number from one to another for each different class. Eric said that they had 61 available - So I said OKIE.....
I run 61 in CCS/ASRA - 63 in CRA - 61 or 63 in WERA? and 24 in AMA....
I have had allot of numbers over the years in CCS - 727(that was my AMA Supercross number) 72 - 106 - and 61.
AMA has been - 727 - 106 and 24
Wera has been - 727 - 99 and 61
CRA - 63
I think that's it.....

Except on the weekends you use the stage name Mehgan.
I used to be 150lbs dressed. At 6'2" that makes you look like a stick. 274 has been my race number since 95. I was 272 for a weekend, and then got bumped because the 272 dood came back for one event. I don't think I've seen him since then.
Mine is because it was my first "big" bike, a '82 GPz1100 and my number is the year I started road racing.
Holy crap, I've been abusing myself for 10 years now!
Mine is because I used to own a horse that was named Blade that was as fast as a Gixxer. #33 is because 3 is my lucky number.
I'm 4'10" tall so #410.
Funsizeracing comes from those little bite-size snickers bars.
On most forums I'm "JeF4y" as one of my first bikes was an F4 which I loved dearly and my name being "Jeffery", a guy named PhuzzyGnu nicknamed me and it stuck.
#42 is a funny story... I wrote in and said I wanted the LOWEST ODD NUMBER available. They gave me 42. I'm not sure if someone thought that was odd (as in unusual) or if it was a good joke, but since it is the answer to life and the universe, I kept it as my own...
Cowboy 6 was my call sign during my deployment in Iraq. A ton of people didn't even know my real name so it stuck. 122 is from the Bible, Book of Romans chapter 12 verse 2:
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

I was feeling especially creative with my screen name ::) ... 49 is what ccs gave me.

Someone called me Bel-Biv one day and it stuck
176?
my daughter was born on the 17th
my son was born on the 6th
my dad's pro race number was 76
it just works
My number, #26, is the age I'll be this year...
And Super Dave got tagged on me after my third weekend of racing. I fell down a few times, and I kept going. Like the Super Dave from the Showtime show Bizzare.
The biz is Spyder, and I'm a chick. Peeps who didn't know my name when I started would ask around for "that Spyder chick".
Damn, people are so clever.

A combination of my name and all I've ever raced have been GSXR's (3 of them). My 1st race number was randomly issued # 214 when I started racing back in '96. My switch to #58 came when I didn't want to deal with a 3 digit number anymore on the ever reducing tail sections, the lowest 2 digit number available at that time was #58 and I've just kept it.

dylanfan53, because I got tired of all the crappy bands out there and ended up listening to Dylan almost exclusively. The older he gets the better I like his stuff. It scares my family, but I understand the lyrics. :ahhh:
There's a certain innocent and plangent sonority in the timbre of his voice that touches us all. I know it needs no further explanation.

helmsman, well my first car was a shitbox Buick Park Avenue, leading to my friends calling it a boat. Soon after i signed up for something online i picked helmsman since i was driving a boat. It is rarely taken on forums, so i just keep using it because then i always remember what my sign on is!
187- I bought my first race bike used, it had 187 on it. So i asked the guy i bought it from if he was going to use that number the next year, he said no, so i just applied for that number since it was all ready on the bike.

Nothing special about my #29 it is my number when I ride with Nesba
so I was lucky to keep it when I started racing last year.
Well this should be a lesson to everyone, take your time doing paperwork send it in in advance of race if possible.
Where it asked for number and had little boxes I put my telephone number, 908.
Later my team makes got 772 and 771. We ran 77 for endurance and then next year my bike ended up as endurance bike and I ended up with 77 for my sprint number.
My screen name = MY first name.... and I'm if you haven't guess, I'm really a Ducati guy...
My number, well back when I got back into racing I was out at Loudon getting my license and 283 looked like a good number, then I ran it for a couple of years, then in 07, I request a 2 digit number that had a 2, 8, or 3 because I had a stock pile of those numbers, and got 82. This year I'll also be running CRA, and have requested either 882 or 822, but we shall see..

Screen name because when I was 18 and naive I joined the cbr600rr.com forum and had no idea what a handle was supposed to be comprised of. I could only think of the two vehicles that I owned to make a screen name - a Dodge Dakota and a CBR600RR. By the way, the cbr600rr.com forum was one of my biggest influences to try racing (ahem.... Jeff and Jason...)
The number 308 is my favorite rifle round. I requested 45, 308, and 223 in that order.
I was a pilot in the Air Force when I first started racing. In my squadron at that time, each pilot was assigned an individual number to use along with our common squadron radio callsign when flying. My assigned number was 63. When I applied for my first race license, I tried to get 63, but it wasn't available, and I got 163 as a second choice. 163 has been my number ever since.
Mine is just cbr600_mj my ride and my initials. And my number 55 I always liked. It was my summer leage hockey number back in the day.
More interesting is the Swampthing on my leathers. That name was given to me by the great K3.
Not too long ago I started doing track days and with STT at Putnam I was too scared to make turn 5.
I had just painted my track bike and did not want to ditch it. So I went straight....all the way into the ravine!
One of the track people stopped by and radioed that I was ok and said by the looks of things," He ain't goin nowhere!" LOL
It was 85 drgrees and I was up to my calfs in mud and water. I almost passed out trying to get the bike out but I could not to it. When the session was over they came to get me out.
I decided to go to a more novice instruction class there and K 3 was the instructor of it.
When I showed up all muddy he said well if it aint SWAMPTHING! LOLOLOLOL
And I just though it was cool and a funny name so I just kept it.
: )
Mike
Swampthing is badass! Id make it your screen name!
Mine is fairly obvious. Of all the sports I've played, racing is the most fun by far. If I didn't enjoy it so much I'd never put up with such headaches. My number is equally obvious. I'm one of the first fools to race a triumph so I took the number. That way, if you couldn't tell by looking, the number would be the first clue as to what that awesome sounding machine was in middleweight.
Forgot my first Roadracing #'s, 86 & 186, first year with CCS, 1984.
Well...it's a play on my first name, maybe not the most creative thing, but it works.
My nick is almost 10 years old now, which now makes me a SuperGranny or so.
I got it after making some donuts on the street. Apparently, ladies haven't done it before me. Someone said "you really are a Supergirl" and it stuck.
This will be my first year racing, but for the track days I picked #56 because when typed in many fonts it looks like SG (SG == SuperGirl/Granny) huh? When applying for the CCS license I asked for #56 and got it!
WooHoo! :-)

Grashopr is short for Grasshopper, which is what I've been called forever, which comes from my business Grasshopper Custom Paint. 303 is my daughters birthday March 3, 2003.
I figured the higher the number the faster you'd go, so I grabbed 220, obviously that plan did not work... chaplain, cause I'm on a mission from God, (at least that's what I tell myself each time they are cutting my leathers off in the emergency room), and #220 is for Galatians 2:20, which is the Bible verse that has given me hope through a violent career and some tough times.

CSBRacing is for Christian Sportbike Racing which is the wonderful ministry team I ride for. Art and Joe (Chaplain 220 and Cowboy 6) are also a part of this team. My number is #316 or # 3:16 for the bible verse John 3:16 "For God so love the world he gave his only begotten son so that those who believe would not perish but have eternal life" which helps me keep faith in some moments of hardship. Our goal as a team is to have at least one rider in every region running the #3:16 as its part of our teams "slogans" :thumb:

Welcome to the (likely)fastest growing club in Motorcycling!
This should be easy..
My screen name is my initials. Not very original, but what the heck.. I think it was late and I was tired when I signed up..
Uh, I really dont' have a number, since I'm not racing.. But the hat thing came from the racers, passing messages to 'that black hat guy' though the MAARC crew.. So the racers named me.
My screen name (which is also my web domain name) started out as a comment made in jest...
During my first CCS/ASRA race event at Daytona several years ago, the weather was very hot. As I wandered throughout the paddock, I found myself [quite pleasantly] surrounded by skin and leather as racers returned from the track and unzipped their leathers (way, way down low) to cool off. [Sidebar: I don't understand why anyone in their right mind would race in 90+ degree weather in direct sun wearing black leathers!] Anyway, I said to someone jokingly, Mmmmmm...."skinandleather"....that sounds like a name for a web site...LOL!
Kidding aside, today the web site aims to celebrate your fine physiques and passion for racing, and hopefully capture some memories for you while you and your crews are taking care of the important stuff! It is a joy to watch you, and the pictures give me a vehicle to better understand what you do and why you do it. It is fascinating, inspirational, entertaining, and a lot of fun.
I honestly tried to think of a traditional domain name but finally decided to keep the risque name because it could be easily remembered and every possible other normal domain name for a photography web site was taken!!!
On the positive side, the unique name probably attracts more traffic to the site which brings racers, CCS/ASRA, and the sport of motorcycle racing additional international exposure...we have received hits from 22 countries within the past year, including:
United States (US)
United Kingdom (GB)
Canada (CA)

The origins of truckstop is too long and boring to go into, but I use it on on all the moto boards for consistency, and because it's gender neutral so as to avoid any unwanted leg-humping. Truckstop as a nickname conjures up the mental image of a big sweaty guy in a stained wife beater and pork chop side burns... or so I have been told when peeps find out I'm a chick.
I've had a different number every year. I keep going for 31 which would be the mirror of my husband's 13. My First number was 131, then requested the lowest available 2 digit number so they gave me 27 which bugged me since I'm no Casey Stoner. This year I requested and got 24 which has been my favorite number for many years. My birthday is on the 24th, so is the hub's, when I was young I always thought 24 was the best age. (Old enough to be taken seriously yet still young) I moved to Germany on my 24th birthday.
My bikes are Ducati's, probably because I own a dealership and 23 is my number. Why make things complicated...

tst = Thiosulfate sulfurtransferase (rhodanese), also known as TST, is a human gene.
The product of this gene is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that is encoded by the nucleus. It may play roles in cyanide detoxification, the formation of iron-sulfur proteins, and the modification of sulfur-containing enzymes. The gene product contains two highly conservative domains (rhodanese homology domains), suggesting these domains have a common evolutionary origin.
ru = Ruthenium is a chemical element that has the symbol Ru and atomic number 44. A rare transition metal of the platinum group of the periodic table, ruthenium is found associated with platinum ores and used as a catalyst in some platinum alloys.
YK = A yūgen gaisha or yūgen kaisha (Jp. lit. "limited company," abbreviated in English as Y.K. or by wasei-eigo Co., Ltd.) is a form of business organization in Japan.
Yugen gaisha are based on the German GmbH and were implemented in Japan in the Limited Company Act of 1940. Companies Act, implemented on May 1, 2006, replaced the yugen gaisha with a new form of company called gōdō gaisha, based upon the American limited liability company. Following the implementation, no new YKs were allowed in Japan, but pre-existing YKs were allowed to continue their operations as kabushiki gaisha under special rules.
Whether the term is pronounced as yūgen gaisha or yūgen kaisha is up to the local dialect, or up to the company's preference when it is part of the company's name. While it is pronounced yūgen gaisha in standard Japanese, the alphabetic abbreviation is always Y.K. by standard.
So to sum up... I am a Japanese based business plan that is involved with human gene's that detoxify cyanide with the use of rare metals...
but Thiosulfate sulfurtransferase, Ruthenium, yūgen kaisha was just too much to fit for a screen name...

All's been getting better. I had a bit of a tire sliding mishap a bit ago and got a pretty narly concussion with some memory issues involved, 15 stitches on my head, a good pit of road rash, and a broken shoulder. In the process of moving to Iowa and selling the house in Wisconsin and sold 3 of the 6 bikes. Not sure if Ill be able to race this year. If I do it will be later in the year. If I cant get freed up enough to race Id at least like to try to squeeze in a track day or two. Hit me up on when and where youll be trackdaying at and if all goes well I may be able to swing out for at least one day.
