I've been struggling ridding a bike with clipons since I shattered my radius in Sept. 2007, so I decided to get a bike with handlebars! It is stupid fun around town, so I can't wait to get it out on the track. Hopefully I can stay out of trouble with it until next season  Attached is a picture of probably the worst idea I've ever had, but it really should be fun.
My SV will be for sale soon. If you are in the market, send me a PM. It is definitely the best deal you will see on a race winning expert level bike.
Anybody else getting a new/new to you bike for next year? I know Becka is, and if you are, post it up!
very cool
good luck hanging onto your license with that thing :thumb:
ahhhh Jack...you and Kyle are gonna go round and round ( when we get the damn motor assembled)...

Awesome! Mine will be stock internally until the first time it needs a rebuild, and then it may get really silly.

You better hurry brother...this one is already silly.....reports are 70 HP to the rear wheel.... :boink:
Whole package weighs under 400lbs WITH KYLE ON IT!!!! :ahhh:
if Kyle can get his skinny ass to keep the front down.....loooook out!
If we ever put Kyle on an SV, Ed might be in trouble...if we can just figure out how he can smoke with a full face helmet on :lmao:
Congrats Jack - Looking forward to seeing you @ the track. I guess I got really lucky with my wrist. It starts hurting after 25 pushups!
All it needs is some pink paint!
and a little love on this side.
well the buell will be getting a new computer, dyno work, new bodywork, shock and getting the forks refreshed this winter. Can't wait to finally get to race it
Picked this up yesterday from Rob

Awesome bike Jack! I am too frightened of my own lack of self controll to buy such a bike, no matter how much I want one.
Becka - welcome to the dark side. I am, however, disapointed. I don't think I will be able to blast by you on the straights anymore.
Lightweight should be fun next year. Welcome to the party Super Dave...
I am not going to do any major work on my Duc this winter other than general maintenance and upkeep and a re-map for U4.2. I am hoping to get more seat time in next year as that will do a lot more for my racing than I can by throwing money around. It will, however, be difficult. This friday marked the arival of a new baby in my house. It is going to be much harder to get away for race weekends.

Thanks, George! I've been here before many times, just before a lot of you. LOL!
And congrats on the baby!!! What kind did you get?
I got a new 848 for next season. It won't be anything special, pretty much stock. Can't wait for spring '09 Number 23 tOm :thumb:
Steve-I'm glad your wrist wasn't any worse. I thank god every day it wasn't my right arm/wrist, or there is no way I would have ever raced again.
George-ditto on what Dave said, what kind? Shelby and I are expecting a little girl in early March.
BTW-I don't think anybody is ever going to beat Becka down the straight again!
Dave-your bike looks like the characters in George's avatar-no offense. Glad to see you back in LW.
Clayton-did I miss the memo? A 848 isn't legal for LW is it? What the hell are you thinking? Wu is coming back to LW and I was hoping you would put the smackdown on him after all the sh!$ he has talked.
Sorry I am always slow to respond, but I can't get to this site at work!

Thanks!
And as for the characters, I did watch the Grinch last night.
And don't let Clay lie: it's an 1198R.
Jack
The guy who bought my SS is in KC and will probably allow me to race it in LW just to see me spank Wu on it in LW - for his transgressions. One should respect their elders. Rich shows no respect at all. Besides sponsoring Becka in LW to spank Wu all season long is almost as fun. Wait 'til you see the cool pink logo's! She is going to rock on it. I also have a nice fully prepped '06 SV on hand should Wu require further spanking next season.
It is a stock 848 not a 1198R as David indicates. Although I would like to have a new 1098R (1198cc) finances permitting, David & Dans Buells are probably faster down the straights than my 848. My old 749R is quicker and faster than this new 848, but it was time to replace it. I'll be in F40 and Supertwins next season with an occassional ride in LW sponsored machines permitting!

Mine? No. 848's make more power than my GSXR750 did last year. My SV1000 can't keep up with 600's, and my Buell is doing well to keep up with SV's. Not with Ed Key's.
We got a little boy - 8 lbs 5 oz, 10 fingers and 10 toes, everthing seems to be going well. Our first son, Samuel, is very happy to have a little brother.
At 3 1/2 Samuel is already trying to talk me into buying him a KTM - they have a "Sammy Sized" 50 cc dirtbike over at the shop that he is ask for from santa.
BTW, does anybody know who is lighter - Ed or Becka? At least they have somewhat equalized the field with combined bike and rider power/weight limits in ASRA Thunderbike for this year. I now have to gain 20 bhp or loose 77 lbs to be anywhere near the class limitations.

Ed is heavier. Spider monkeys are suprisingly dense. However, Becca is definately better looking, so she wins there.
Here is my new race bike. Spankin new. Sorry about the quality, I took the picture on my phone. Ive got all of the best shit sitting on the shelves waiting to get slapped on. Should be a good season :thumb:

Did you buy a new 2008 R1?
Quote from: benprobst on December 03, 2008, 10:29:35 PM
Yes.
Holy shit Ben! Have you rode a liter bike in haste? I did once and felt like the graphic they used to have in Sportrider magazine that said mondo ride. The rider in the graphic had his eyes popping out and his feet flying in the air-ha! Good luck with that thing and hopefully I get to see you ride it next year.

Yeah I rode one at the end of this year, and yes it was blurringly fast. Once I got up to speed at the very end of the year on the 750 I was constantly running it over its head in nearly all aspects in an attempt to make up for my horsepower disadvantage. This has been the plan all along, 2 years on the SV, 1 year on a 750 to learn the inlines, and now a couple of big years on a liter bike. Should be alot of fun, ive got some amazing parts to put on it including some sweet suspension and electronics. Ill be running all over the place next year so im sure we will cross paths. Ive been thinking about buying some 17's for my KTM 450 too, The 4 speed tranny will kill me at a track like HPT, but if you come to town maybe ill come out and try to chase you and the husky around!
Hey George, congrats to you and the better half on the new addition!!
Here is my new race bike for next year 8)

Got any good sand flat tracks or woods riding over there in KC? Ive been looking for a reason to make a trip to ride my dirtbike.

Ditto. I always need a reason to come to KC.
So what are the bumpy rains on, All I'm seeing at work is a stupid red X.

a few years old YZF dirtbike, I think its a 250.
Jack, you have a dirt bike??

Sure do, I can crash anything with 2 wheels, guaranteed. A few years back I got a RM125, but I had to get rid of it after trying(and failing) a couple triple jumps. Not to mention, I just don't have enough common sense for a bike with an on/off switch for a throttle. From there I got a KLX300 set up mostly for trail, but it does other things ok. I'll probably stick with it this year, but I wouldn't mind getting a new 250 in the next couple of years.
Nice! Forward Motion Hare Scrambles is doing a race down by Wichita next year-you should race it with me!
We have a decent amount of good trails around here to ride.

Clayton - my bad. I didn't mean to disrespect my elders. When I said "go f$ck yourself".......I should have said "go f$ck yourself, sir".
:)

I bought Alan Depp's 996S from him and made a few changes to it. Ducati Claus came early for me!
I'm going to race LW whenever Wu does just to have some fun.
You should put some stickers on that.
jack, So are you going to paint your new bike pink to match your pit scooter?
glad to see you will be racing in 2009.
Scooter will be for sale. My wife came to one race, and it just isn't worth the trouble for that. I've got a go ped that already matches the husky, so I can meet the color coordinating standards of the board
Frankie Chili put enough on it as is, but maybe one or two more would fit?
