Title: The 2009 CCS schedule post.
Post by: Eye-p on September 11, 2008, 03:54:24 PM
Well, I figured its never too early to give Eric and Kevin heartburn by asking about the 2009 schedule.
We have discussed it already http://www.ccsforum.com/index.php/topic,20685.msg175147.html#msg175147. (http://www.ccsforum.com/index.php/topic,20685.msg175147.html#msg175147.)

As we are getting closer to the end of the year, I want to be able to plan and budget for next season.

What are all of you planning on doing next season?

I looked at those threads before posting this one.

With only one round left in the MA region, I want to start getting ready for next year. That might mean a new bike, and so on...

Jim, If you do all 8 rounds next season and use the endurance tank then you're going to be tough to beat!

Thanks Vas.
No endurance tank so I'll just have to pick up the pace is all. :)

In November, some dates might get leaked.  But don't expect an actual solid schedule until January when the final events are put into place and the final contracts are signed by some.  Generally, weekend dates don't change much, but rumor has it we won't be racing at Blackhawk Farms on Mother's Day.  Weekend before or after?

I'd look at past years solid schedules for an understanding of previous historical reference.  Yeah, there are some changes, but there is a reasonable pattern to work with.

Look on Road America's website to see if they have a schedule.  They might show the CCS event soon.  Well, in two to four weeks.

You're still early.

I'm guessing the Daytona Opening Round will still be the week before the Daytona 200, so February 26th - March 1st???  The other rounds seem to be the same weeks every year as well.

I'm really more interested to see if NJMP makes it onto the MA schedule!!!!

Plan to be racing and if you will be using the same equipment as last year just add 15% to last year's budget.

Next Question please

Oooo!  Bob got it done then?  I hadn't been by there lately, since I didn't do any AMA racing in 2008.  Did the mall get done yet?  Well, I guess I should ask if it got open?  Last I talked to him, he was pissed off about some lease questions or something from Crate & Barrel.

See that's where I got confused - Last I heard the mall was almost done - But there were some issues with residential sound ordinances.... I saw no residential anything around..... So what's their problem..... It's really neat tho - You'll be surprised when you see it......

That's near your folks, isn't?

Sweet, I won't have to travel too far then! I like sleeping in my own bed on race weekends.

Actually for 2009 there will no longer be individual CCS Regional schedules, just CCS and ASRA races at every event with 440 rider maximum grids! It looks like CCS is going old school by getting rid of automated scoring systems, having qualifying for every class to determine grid position, and full bike teardown's in tech for the top 50 finishers in each class. I also heard thru the grapevine that CCS is going to go beyond what DMG is trying to do with the AMA (following what World Superbike does) by combining all CCS / ASRA races with the WSBK schedule for 2009! As of now the WSBK riders will be practicing and qualifying with the CCS Amateurs to provide a more challenging environment in which to earn pole position - though total Amatuers on the track at one time will be limited to 950 so as not to go over the 1000 rider maximum density on the track when the 50 WSBK riders are out there as well.

So for everyone looking forward to next years race season make sure and watch the WSBK Portugal Races this evening on SPEED and see one of the tracks we'll be racing at in 2009!  ::)
