Title: Summit Point re-surfacing
Post by: Dr. Evil on June 03, 2007, 12:18:58 PM
That's the rumor I am starting...

While waiting for the helo Memorial Day Saturday, I thought I heard over the intercom that Summit Point will be re-surface in August.  Can anyone confirm this?
I would hope that at least they fill in the crack (pot hole) at the entrance to turn 5.

On a side note, Any body have any idea what causes this type of tire wear?

Resurfacing would be nice...

As for your tire problem, it might just be too much power being put down at extreme lean angles like this...

Interesting.
I have noticed an increase in rpm at elevated lean angles.

hey not sure when the re-surfacing will ever happen but the pot hole in the entrance to t-5 was fixed during the wera weekend summit track maintenance put a cold patch on it so watch your front brake not much traction as the concrete starts,on the other hand better than a huge hole..

I had heard the re-surfacing rumor from Travis a couple of race weekends back.  Never heard anything else about it after that.
