I like the travel time quote....  about 29 days + 10 hours.

Damn Tim, I knew you used to be a fast ass swimmer (or was that fat ass swimmer?) I had no idea you were still in that kind of shape!!

29 days is a long swim!!!  I think that averages out to like 5mph... a little optimistic for an average speed in open water.

In shape?  sure... round is a shape right?!?!?!

Havent been a fast swimmer since I was 17.... tried training a few years ago... thinking I would knock out an easy 1000... I think I knocked out a struggling 200.   :err:

And just think, a lifeguard swam from Bimini to Dania Beach FL. I think that took a full day.

I was reading the other day where a guy swam the full length of the Amizon River. His last world record was for swiming the full length of the Mississippi River. he was kind of fat too. not even close to the shape you would think someone doing that would be in.

Fat floats..  So maybe for endurance swimming a few extra lbs aren't a bad thing

As long as you're swimming downstream you'd be fine.  Kind of like putting a sail up and getting pushed by the wind!!  :ahhh:
