Title: Is Heartland Park Topeka kid friendly?
Post by: Rudy on June 02, 2006, 04:31:22 PM
Is Topeka a decent place to take the family?  We would be camping.  I have three young ones and they need some room to run.

Thanks

HPT has tons of room to spread out and enjoy the family.

It looks like there is a perfectly good runway for them to play on just the other side of the fence! ;)

There's lots of room. But very little grass. Think big parking lot. Bring sidewalk chalk, bicycles, bubbles, etc.

There is a play area beside the concession on the north end of the north paddock with a sand pile and toys and there are 3 150 foot wide by 1000 foot long grass paddock areas that you can paddock in and have your kids with you to play on. There are now two pavilion areas by the concession (6,000 square feet & 1500 square feet) to eat under and keep your family close by while relaxing in the shade. I think you will find HPT to be a nice place to take your family and to race. See you at the races!
