In 24 hrs my smite rating went from a -2 to a -10 :o

Yep, I think you have it figured out. Mine and several others who started at zero are at seven smites now. LOL!

I don't even have a smite button. Maybe that's a good thing. I don't know why I don't however.
I dunno, but someone really needs a life if they can sit there and wait 1 hr between smites.
