Since some of the newer bikes are coming from the factory with ti-nitriding on the fork sliders, will CCS allow older bikes that didn't come from the factory that have had the forks nitrided by Racetech to compete in Supersport?
Check the rule book, if it is not specifically forbidden then it is allowed. I do not recall the rule book saying anything about coating fork tubes. Write Eric or Kevin at CCS to be sure.
The rulebook says the original equipment frame, forks, engine, etc. These are the original equipment Showa forks, they've just been revalved, resprung, and the slider's coated. I ask this question because WERA says they're not supersport legal but I tend to feel that the performance gain from this modification isn't so great that it should preclude competing in Supersport class.
CCS allows much more modifications in supersport than does WERA.
WERA rulebook - if it does not say you can do it, then it is not legal.
CCS rulebook - if it does not say you cannot do it, then it is legal.
Cool. Thanks. Looks like I'm good for supersport in CCS then.
