Title: Tire choice

DOT's verses slicks on an sv superbike, or for any bike for that matter. Thanks for any feedback!!

I've never run an SV or slicks, but I know there's a class or two you cannot run slicks in.

Opie, I think you've got a million HP in your SV, so you can't run a class that requires DOT's.  

DOT's have execelent development in the 3.5 front/5.5 rear combos.  So, you have lots of options.  

Slicks...there's some good stuff out there that might offer better longevity, but not necessarily as good of traction...well, not the ultimate traction.

I use Michelin's myself.  I think Quentin Mise is the Michelin guy in the MA area.  I think you might be able to get a hold of him through Sportbike Track Time.

That would be a start for you.
