Title: Triple clamps ?
Post by: 251am on April 18, 2005, 04:59:59 AM
Looking at triple clamps for the RC51. Are these aftermarket pieces part of the sales pitch..."You gotta have these.." or are there specific advantages to the Vortex and Pro Tek pieces? One of them brags on more precise machining, better fit, therefore a more rigid fork set up. What's the opinions out there? TIA, Todd.

If it is only the upper t-clamp it is more show than go. The lower t-clamp is the more important of the two. Look at a factory superbike, which t-clamp is significantly larger than the stock ones? Sometimes the upper may even be thinner than the stock item.

A proper set of aftermarket triples are going to offer you some specific advantages for chassis geomertry.  There are reasons for it.
