Have you gotten in touch with Kimmie lately?
Hey K3...
If you are not going to be at RA, could you give me a ring?
Thanks

No release date on the novel yet.... :'( I'll be at Autobahn on 4-30, 5-1, as (GULP) Lead Instructor! God, I hope I don't screw it up....
No CCS at RA. Too expensive for my thin wallett. I'll be at RA for the STT dates, though. Got your e mail a minute ago. I'll call Kim.
Nice article, as usual.
I'll see you 4/30 at the track, Professor Onwiler.
;D ;D ;D

I liked it, but since then I've Keyed it. In fact, I'm still Keying it. You might even say that I'm re-Keying it! Keying costs lots of hard work and money!

Keying it? Is that like a chia pet where you add seeds and it grows hair all over it? ;D

As in "Ed"-Keying it??

Bingo! you win the prize.
Tell him what he's won, Chris...
You win endless unpaid nights in the garage, taking your bike apart and putting it back together hundreds of times, just to gain or lose a millimeter here or an ounce there. You will spend endless dollars, and hours on the phone and through E mail to your mentor. Then, his critical eye will be all over your work when it is done! If you're lucky, you might learn something along the way! (Basically unavoidable.) As a bonus, you will have to live with the persistant rumors that your bike cost $50K, weighs 150lb and has 200 HP, while putting up with all the slander when you still only finish mid pack! Yes, it's the prize of a lifetime, but you can't have it! It's mine! Mine! All mine! You can buy the book later!

You guys are just silly.
So Chris what have you done so far? I got mine down to under 350lbs without going too wild.
Aluminum subframe (modified to use 8mm bolts instead of 10mm), aluminum fairing bracket and fairing mounts, gutted wiring harness - eliminated stock fuse box and most relays, smaller battery and aluminum battery box, aluminum alxe spacers and spacers between bearings, lightened a few parts on the mill (rear brake carrier, ends for axle adjuster, etc), aluminum damping rods, replaced rear fuel tank mount with one fabbed from what else - aluminum. Removed every part that was not absolutely necessary. Removed/relocated all components (except shock reservoir) from rear subframe - less chance of damage in a crash, especially if the subframe breaks off. I am sure there are some other things I have forgotten. Ti exhaust, Ti shock spring.
One of the tricks about using aluminum is selecting the correct alloy. The use of the part along with any processing - welding, bending, etc. will affect you choice. A strong alloy is not always the best choice. Pay attention to grain direction when bending.
I'm in the 370s with just a TI pipe and an aluminum subframe.
