They have the 256 and 1 meg.....

I'm a cheap lady so I just got the 256.  It sure beats the 24 bps that I was getting on dial up.

LOL!!!!

Yes it is....

However there is some charm to it.  Most kids don't even know what a dial telephone is.  I have a '32 Kellogg Red Bar dial desk phone that still works although I haven't had it plugged in for a few years (I don't want to wear it out).  I couldn't believe the prices that they're getting for them things now...

That was one of the advantages of working at the telephone company, I was able to pick up some unique things.

Lately Comcast has been going down, usually in the evening when I can go online.  So for the last two days I've had "yellnet".

As in "YOU KIDS TURN DOWN THE MUSIC AND GET TO BED!!"

You know, Yellnet. ;D

[Bob Barker voice] Tell him what he won Rod..... [/Bob Barker voice]

[Rod Roddy voice] Well Bob, nfcracin wins a date with K3 at A&W. And later on they will go out hunting for the elusive "racer" at Road America, who has yet to be seen at any track in the MW. Upon sighting the elusive "racer" they will have a big bag of rubber bands they can shoot him with. ;D ;D ;D [/Rod Roddy voice]

I had a 12 hr day today also (sleeping ;D The wonders of being unemployed. ;D )

A guy I was talking with who works for our cable company said they can up their max bandwidth to 6 or 7mbps before they would even need to think about updating all teh cable lines here. He said its normal for some areas to get up to 3.5 when all we pay for is 3 which is what they say we are supposed to get.

I do a periodic speed check. Those were this week's numbers. Since I live in a "Leased Residence" (the BS name for apartment), you would think it would fluctuate, but it's been pretty stable. I live too far from a switching station, so cable is better than DSL in my location.

D@mn, I love broadband.  ;D
