With only 3 weeks left till the Road America event I felt it was time for a role call.
I will be there for Friday thru Sunday racing in the Heavyweight classes on my GSXR 750 and a couple of the unlimited classes as well. I hope we have some decent weather for a change and a safe event as well!
So who out there is attending, for which days, and what classes are you running on what bike(s)?
I'm In!!! Can't wait!. I'll JUST be doing middle weights. On the RR. I'm thinking about the 3 hour endurance too, that sounds fun.
Stumpy

JUST? What's that, like 8 CCS classes alone? How many total are you doing?
Maybe....
Possibly....
There's some rumbings about Paul and Bob Wagner doing the team challenge. We'll see how the details work out.
Dawn
We'll all be there! We just got our canopy installed today and have already started loading the trailer for our first track day next week...I can't believe the season is here already!
what 3 hour endurance?
we will be there for the 20 min team chalenge,
and the formul;a sportbike
I'll be there - wrecking homes as proficiently as possible.
On a serious note - I'll have my leathers for two reasons.
1. Always on the lookout for a bike - street or track.
2. In all seriousness, I pride myself on knowing what I'm talking about - or at least trying. To that end, I like to ride or drive the courses that I'm covering. In the absence of rain or a wet track, during lunch on Friday, and pending race director approval (never been a problem in the past); will anyone be willing to 1. lend me an inline four and 2. lead-follow me for a few laps.
The 'pay' is lots of press - plus you get first dibs on laughing at how slow I am.
Remeber - I actually DO have a CCS license.
Thx for reading.

Yes, we will be there. Yes, your leathers will be ready (who ever you might be). And the weather will be gorgeous, because I said so! ;D
I think there's a chance we might make this one. :)
Hey Grif.....
Your fly's open! :o :o :o
Ha! Made ya' look! ;D
Still waiting for my motor to get finished... :(
But I should be there

I'm going to miss it this year. Work schedule. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. :'(
QuoteStill waiting for my motor to get finished... :(

And your leathers! Since you're lurking around, give me a call at the beginning of the week so we can set an appointment for you and Missy to pick up your stuff! ;) :D
QuoteAnd the weather will be gorgeous, because I said so! ;D
So are you the one everyone should blame for the fog last year? :P Just because you happen to feel that foggy weather is 'gorgeous'. ;D
Still thinking. Tow vehicle is a little iffy. Hope to make it. (See you from the back row, if so) :'(
QuoteAnd your leathers!
Ohh you have to tell me...
How do they look?

Though I realistically won't be a front runner at Road America, and I don't race on a team that could use the press, I could hook you up. I will be there that day and won't have a race immediately after lunch so I shouldn't be pressed for time or anything. I bring my '99 GSXR 600 along as a spare in case I have a problem with my '02 GSXR 750 so I would have 2 bikes available and I wouldn't really care which one you rode (as long as you kept it upright ;)). The offers available to you if you don't get a better one. :)

While the corner workers are eating lunch? Are you sure?
So my wife tells me she's got the weekend off, so "Hooray, we're going to the races".
But then she adds, "I could take off a couple extra days before & after that weekend, and we could use some frequent flyer miles plus $29.40 to fly down to the Caribbean. We can stay with our friends who own the cabin cruiser and visit the British Virgin Islands during that weekend"
(Hmmm. $29.40 for 2 people to fly round trip to St. Thomas.......Or enjoy Wisconsin in April?)
See ya in May!
Yes, I'm sure.
That's the only time they'll be out of my fckn way ...
There's a system to this - the details of which I haven't belabored you with.
Thank you for your concern, but this isn't unsupervised or as unsafe as it may seem.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Actually, It is the only time the cornerworkers feel safe about him being on the track... When we aren't near it.
I'll be there as well Friday-Sunday, running Lightweight stuff and maybe Supertwins...
Hey Mike wanna split a hotel again? Keep your hands to yourself this time please? :o
QuoteSo are you the one everyone should blame for the fog last year? :P Just because you happen to feel that foggy weather is 'gorgeous'. ;D
I've been bit by the malicious RA fog a few time meself, I would never wish that on me bestest racing buds. 70 and Sunny is what I've orderd up! (Sorry Stumpy, no rain I guess) ;) :D

Right now? Naked. ;D Wait 'til mid week, and they'll be starting to look like ultra hip racer leathers. ;D
'lexa,
Spoke to Missy, and she wants to know how hers look...
I think is overly excited to get them ;D

That's cool, but not so many strippers in the room this time, ok? ;)

Well, I just didn't think is was appropriate for that strippers bodyguard to stick that vibrating thing in your...but anyways....It was 3am and I was trying to get some sleep and that gag ball in your mouth wasn't keeping you quiet enough over on your side of the room. No problem with you having some fun, but try and bring it down a notch this time, ok? :)

Oh yeah..... now I remember. There was some idiot who'd been wearing a bandana on his head earlier in the day that did go out on the track :P
Make sure you stay on Bill F's good side ;D

I'll be playing the role of motorcycle racer with any luck... Although things are frantic right about now...
Bike is still in pieces, motor is out (I think)
Exhaust is still nowhere to be found (might be in the country, might not be)
Bodywork is new production so it 'might' fit. (let's not talk about paint yet)
RV is in production and should arrive at the dealer on either 4/18 or 4/20. Give 1 - 1.5 days for PDI and then I can pick it up... It looks like I may end up picking it up on Thursday, bringing it home and hooking the trailer up to go to Road A...
Oh the pre-season stress... Gotta love it..
Oh yeah, my leathers are out there somewhere too, but they're the least of my worries as I know they'll be done in time...

Leathers? What leathers? Do I have a set or 2 of yours?
;D
I'll be there, racing way too many races! Me and Steve Atlas may end up doing the Team Challenge race on my 600. We'll see how that turns out!
QuoteLeathers? What leathers? Do I have a set or 2 of yours?
;D
hehe.. ;D you've got two :P
We'll be there :)
I'll be there to pop the cherry!! 1st race weekend and man am I psyched!!
Possibly doing the team challenge for more seat time before the sprints get fully underway, that may change my mind on the GT... but other than that I am running both sets of sprints MWSS, MWSB, and MWGP.
Is it normal to wake up in the middle of the night thinking about this stuff...this has been going on since october!!! :o
Here's to a safe, fun weekend!!
see you all there!!

Good luck Tim. Hope everyone has a great, safe weekend!
Be there F-S, now hopefully my pre-entry on the web actually went through.
I'm pre entered, but on I'm on a 125 so I might just have to install the dvd player and lcd screen for that front straight.

I'll be there. Wrenching, not racing.

Hey! :P
I'll be there if the weather is nice, didn't buy my license yet since someone now has my old number. The trip costs me way too much in gas to ride with numb fingers like I did back in 2003. I'll have my newest fan with me too. Hopefully we'll see you all there, otherwise it'll be blackhawk.
Chris

i'll be there to hang out and wrench, arriving friday evening.
About 2 weeks to go so I figured I would start with the inaccuracy weather forecast. ;)
Weather.com's 10-day forecast shows scattered rain with temp's in the mid to upper 50's. Upper 50's would be just fine with me if there's no rain! :)
Weather forcasts past about 2 or 3 days are pretty much worthless.
Since weather is a chaotic dynamic system, it is by its nature not predictable. That is, there will never be a computer model good enough to predict weather very accurately more than a few days.
That, and meteorologists lie to us. ;) ;D I trust the weather report when it's happening.
"Bob, it seems the storm has finally hit us, back to you." (as the reporter is getting pushed sideways by 60MPH winds)
Roger listened to the doom and gloom weather yesterday, and didn't ride to work. It was gorgeous all day til 4PM. Old people watch the weather alot, they have nothing better to do. I told Rog he better stop watching the weather channel or I'll have to get him some Centrum Silver! ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I had 3 bolts of lightning hit so close to my house we heard the SNAP all 3x as they hit. It was within a few hundred yards. The resultant thunder actually knocked pictures off my mantle... CRAZY insane...
And for meteorologists(sp?), I like the comedian's answer. Make death-row inmates predict the weather. If they get it wrong, they go to the chair. If they get it right, they can live another day!
QuoteAnd for meteorologists(sp?), I like the comedian's answer. Make death-row inmates predict the weather. If they get it wrong, they go to the chair. If they get it right, they can live another day!

You sound just like a Physics teacher! ;D ;D ;D
As long as RA isn't cancelled, we're happy!!
See yous guys there. ;)

Roger is a wuss. I heard no mention of snow so I rode yesterday. Left at 5:45 am and returned home at 9:45 pm. The new Aerostitch Darien jacket and pants worked great.
And I told him just that when he got home. I really rubbed it in. He starts the season the same way every year, and by the and of it, he's riding when it's 35 degrees out. ;D
QuoteYou sound just like a Physics teacher! ;D ;D ;D
Occupational hazard :D
QuoteAnd I told him just that when he got home. I really rubbed it in. He starts the season the same way every year, and by the and of it, he's riding when it's 35 degrees out. Ê;D
I knew I could count on you. Got to get more bikes on the road.
Tends to be more difficult to get started and then harder to stop. After the first ride or 2, I just can't go back to the truck. No snow, I should be riding to work everyday until at least November. 42 to 45 mpg doesn't hurt much either.
Rog gets 50 MPG regualrly, and he's gets upset if it gets down to 48 MPG. With fuel prices like they are, he's going to save around $70 to $80 per month on gas, so riding will be a joy! ;D
BTW I left Jason a message to give you a call. If he doesn't let me know, I'll go rough up the shrimp.
Cool. Thanks. I think you can take him, just go for the knee! :o ;) :P
That's low Alexa, really low....about knee level. ;D
The Beer Boys will be there - Friday-Sunday. Maybe Thursday; definitely Thursday night. The bus is gone (I know, I know - it wasn't my idea to sell it - complain to Bob) so look for a gray Ford Dually & a black trailer out in the sticks as usual. Actually I think he may park that rig down by the motard track, but we'll be around anyway. I'll run the Team Challenge (which is 2hrs Stump Meister) on the 806 bike, & I'll run F40 & MWGP. 808 (Bob - see why he picked 808? Get it? 808 BOB 808 BOB...) will partner on the 806 bike for TC, run some MW races & motard, 807 (Ross) will partner on the 806 bike for TC & run motard, and 711 (Don - AKA Donnatela, AKA Donny SCPU - Self Contained Party Unit) will run LW. There's rumors about FREE BEER - I can't substantiate this - just a rumor as of now. Rumors - This reminds me of Fleetwood Mac which reminds me of Riannon - Is she coming? Did I spell that right? Am I rambling?
I can't Freegin wait!!!!!!!!
QuoteThat's low Alexa, really low....about knee level. ;D
Ah yes, the evil shows sometimes. ;) ;D
I'm in :D ! ! !
As a spectator / wrench :(
I'll be there.

If i can help let me know. I'ld hate to have you miss out on the fun!!!!!

Good news! I'll be riding up with Team Cafe Racer . AKA Jim, Matt and Jamie Hall. Whoo hoo! ;D
Just to see how un-accurate the 10-day forecast is I thought I would post what Weather.com is saying for Thursday next week (for the track day before the RA event). As of right now it's showing scattered showers most all week leading up to that day with temp's in the mid 60's. Time will tell how accurate this turns out to be! ;)

Well, we won't be there...
Renee has a band competition that she is required to go to for school (it's part of her letter grade).
Have fun everyone and stay safe!
Dawn :)

Now that I know this bothers Brian so much I felt compelled to update the weather further. ;D ;)
As of Tuesday morning it looks like no rain all event with high's in the upper 50's all (3) days.
Me likey alot :)

Wow... thank God I haven't had to make a call like that... I'd have to call on my parents/brother/sisters/neighbors I think.
Weather looking fair. No rain forecasted yet, but cooler temps. ~56-58 for the highs. Hope it gets a bit warmer than that, but so long as it's not raining I'll be super duper happy.
I can surely deal with rain, but Road A is so much more fun in the dry...

Soon enough she'll be out of school and then we'll have plenty of time to play.

I didn't really mention it on here, but I did indeed keep my travel misfortune pattern up on my trip to Daytona last month. On the way back, while traveling alone in the middle of Georgia, I had the rear U-Joint fail on my Dually. That ended up in a middle of the night tear down at a rest stop and just about getting mugged, which was a new experience for me. :P (Like I was actually suprised when something went wrong!)
