It's better than all the free and retail versions of other spyware detectors. In the past, I had used a combo of AdAware and Spybot, but I found this software to be more thorough. It provides an update scheduler and real-time protection, which no other software currently offers. It found a commercial keylogger on my system, (which really p1ssed me off!) and I've been very meticulous about running regular scans with all of my antivirus and spyware detectors.
In addition, it has a PC security check, so you can make sure your security levels are at optimum. One thing I really liked about this feature is that it blocked Active X access (one of the worst ideas Microsh1t ever had), from all the of the worst offenders of the plug-in.
Happy computing!
i thought it was funny when comcast started sending me threatening emails and phone calls saying my computer was sending out massive amount of spam mail.
Well i know a few things about puters seeing as how im on them like 16 hours a day. and mine had no viruses, trojans, spybots or anything. (and all i have is a hardware firewall, no spybots programs no anti-virus,)
Then i forgot that my wifes computer is on the same network. So i hop on hers and its got tons of spyware, trojan horses, and is sending out spam mail like its going out of style.
Now i have her computer in WW3 defense mode and its been fine since. I still dont use any spyware or virus on mine. Its just were u go, what people send ya, and what ya click on.
If your wife's 'puter was on your network...whooowheee, I'll bet they were having a field day!
I'm pretty close to the most security concious person I know when it comes to computers, that's why I was so irritated and upset when I found there was a keystroke logger trojaned in my system. I went and changed EVERY passkey I have. Adware stuff...small time, but a commercial keystroke logger can do real damage, especially if you do banking and other financial transactions from home. Something to seriously think about.
Micrsoft has a free one that works well for me...I don't leave it running just scan & clean when needed. It's free and found some adware stuff on my box at work...I thought I was clean!
