I really, really, REALLY miss that comic strip. :'(
It was intelligent, witty and funny.
[Calvin & Hobbes, the stuffed tiger, sitting at a table. Calvin is writing on a paper and saying]
Calvin: I used to hate writing assignments, but now I enjoy them.
[2nd frame - Hobbes has a look of amazement/bewindermwent on his face as he looks at us, the readers. Calvin continues talking but now has the look of one who's lecturing].
Calvin: I realized that the purpose of writing is to inflate weak ideas, obscure poor reasoning, and inhibit clarity.
[3rd frame - Calvin alone is in the frame. he's holding out the sheet of paper he was writing on]
Calvin: With a little practice, writing can be an intimidating and impenetrable fog! Want to see my book report?
[last frame - Hobbes sitting at table holding the paper. Calvin sitting next to Hobbes. Resting his head in his hand, elbow on table and with a very satisfied look on his face]
Hobbes: "The Dynamics of Interbeing and Monological Imperitives in Dick and Jane: A Study in Psychic Transrelational Gender Modes"
Calvin: Academia, here I come!
Yeah, I've brought up my kids on Calvin & Hobbes...
Great philosophers both of them... ;D
Really, though...
Great stuff.

[Calvin & Hobbes walking together in the woods]
Calvin: Know what I pray for?
Hobbes: What?
[2nd frame - both come to a stop. Calvin is counting off his fingers]
Calvin: The strength to change what I can, the inability to accept what I can't and the incapacity to tell the difference.
[Last frame - they resume walking]
Hobbes: You should lead an interesting life.
Calvin: Oh, I already
do!
