I'm not being totally lazy here, because I have just read the rule book. But I'm looking for a favor from someone who is experienced with racing a SuperStock SV in CCS. I'm about to submit an application for a license along with a pre-registration. Can someone step me quickly through a typical CCS weekend for an SV rider? So I know about how many times I can expect to practice or race per day, what time on Sunday the weekend is over, what classes are good or not good to 'race-up', ect.
Ex:
Saturday:
7:00 - tech
9:00-11:00 -practice
afternoon
LWSuperstock - 8 laps
...
..
Sunday
...
2-3 practices per day. Lightweight Supersport, Superbike and Grand Prix. Also GT light, Thunderbike, and Super Twins. Lightweight F40 if you're 40 or older. That's 5-7 races. Need more? try to beat the 600 cc bikes in Middleweight. Who knows what the schedule will be like this year? Hope that helps.
Region? or where do you live what tracks as they are differnt some have all day Sat practice and racing on Sunday only others have racing Sat Sun others Fri-Sun.

I live in Michigan. So I'm thinking about doing the Gingerman rounds and the Road America round. Beyond that, I don't know if I'll have the time or $$.
So for Road America, I don't understand what's different between Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, but I'm probably looking at:
Friday
Race#2 Thunderbike (5 laps)
Race #4 GTL (25 min?)
Saturday
Do I need to qualify for something?
Race #1 Supertwins (5 laps)
Race #3 Lightweight GP (5 laps??)
Race #7 LW superbike (5 laps)
Race #11 CCS thunderbike (5 laps)
Race #13 LW supersport (5 laps)
Sunday
Race #2 LW supersport (5 laps)
Race #5 LW Superbike (5 laps)
lunch
Race #13 Lightweight GP (?? laps)
So, what's different about the FUSA stuff?
And, if I were going to cut a race out on Saturday because 5 is a lot, which ones am I least competative in on a stock SV?
There is no qualifying for CCS races, however, if you were an expert there is qualifying for the F-USA races, should you choose to enter. Nothing on your list is an F-USA race.

I'm thinking on a SS SV the least competitive is Supertwins. Bigger twins have the hp advantage at RA. Next least competitive would be Lt GP.
Be aware that RA is hectic. Lots of bikes so the practice sessions go fast.
Also, in the past Gingerman weekends have been tied to LP rider days so Saturday has been all trackday stuff with races crammed in on Sundays. Depending on red flags, weather, etc. those weekends can get hectic with races shortened or combined to get them all in.
BHF weekends flow well. All day practice on Friday, races Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of time to forget about work, lay back on the nylon barcalounger, enjoy a cool iced tea, watch the leaves shimmering in the summer sun...WHAT?!!? LAST CALL!?!!!?

Well, supertwins would be a good one to drop, that way I wouldn't be in Race #1, so I'd get some time to learn the format.
Race #13 on Sunday, isn't that an FUSA race? I was thinking it was.

BHF is Blackhawk Farms which is pretty close too, well racer relative speaking. But would definitely be closer than RA unless you live way north in MI.
As far as dropping Supertwins, if you are looking for a way to save money then I would say yes, but otherwise I would say don't. Yes you are competing against 1000cc VTwins, RC51's TLR's and the likes, but it's a fun class to race and I only had one situation last year where a guy beat me strictly because of HP and that was because I slacked on the last lap not knowing how close he was. There were plenty of them running up front, but there were also times that a rider on an SV would still win that race. Of course this may not apply so much to RA because of the fact that it is a much longer straight and a different track, but at BHF I would say run supertwins it's fun.
Like everyone else said though, otherwise it is Lightweight Supersport, Lightweight Superbike, and Lightweight GP.

You can also try FUSA thunderbike even if your an AM. I do it, i just like to see how well i can do with the experts! I find it makes me faster. 8)
I had thunderbike listed in my original schedule, as Race #11 on Saturday.
Now, this FUSA stuff. Does it cost extra to qualify? If you pre-register for the race, and don't end up qualifying, do you get your money back? How does all of that work?
If you sign up for FUSA Thunderbike and don't qualify its pretty much a done deal....no money back. Its $100 per fusa class so you might want to think about it before you pre reg for it. :-/

Yep! You sure can! Its the only FUSA class you can enter under as an AM. I'm doing summit point & VIR when its a FUSA weekend there.

Okay, again, good tips, thanks. I probably won't be signing up for the FUSA stuff, not on my first weekend anyway.
Hey Ed, I'll keep you in mind. You could always ride Maddy, but she's set up for the street right now. You need to elope (or escape) and get back to the racing.
