To those who have lap timers: should I buy a transmitter, or is there one at Moroso. Homestead, Jennings and Daytona? Fanks!
LOL, you should change your screen name to Elmer Fudd and then you could do all of your posts like that. ;D
Seriously, usually someone has a the beacon needed, but I'm not sure they all brands work with each other.
Heh, heh, heh, heh.
Duc season.
No, wabbit season.
No, duc season!
;D ;D
The AIM comes with the transmitter. The XT does not. I've never been to a track where someone didn't have a beacon (transmitter) out... I use my beacon like 2-3x per year on track days or to do split times.
I'd tell you to go with the AIM, or not bother with the beacon. You shouldn't need it...
Hewow,
I have another question. If I get the XT, and someone has a beacon at start finish, that's great. But what if someone sets up a beacon halfway around the track, too? Do I get split times whether I like it or not? Can I block out a particular beacon? How does the timer know which beacon is the finish line? Why is it so cold in here? What time is it? Where is my drink?

IIRC, with XTs you can set the lap timer to record no less than a specific time, which would get around the 2nd beacon issue. Otherwise, you'd get split times, but I think someone would ask for the second beacon to be removed as an annoyance.
Skip the transmitter unless you do trackdays with a light turnout.
Bring a spare battery though. Transmitters need 'em and it seems they're always dead.
you can set min lap times on lap timer, There is a way to do splits as well by use of multiple beacons never done that but know some can do that as well.
