DAVID APPELLOF SW EX 57
Dave...if you are on this forum.... I want to let you know that along with my CCS license... I got an identical envolope with your name and address on it... :o
No fault of CCS....looks like the US mail department messed up. I got it today and am sending it back off in the morning. I hope it gets to you soon.
If anyone knows David...please let him know. Thanks..
Oh yeah... I'm in Madeira Beach, Florida! Ha ha ha....
Thanks for taking the time to find me and giving me a call. I really appreciate it. When you send the License, can you include some riding skills to go with it? I totally sucked last weekend.
Best of luck to you this season and if you need any Vinyl Stickers, let me know and I'll make some for you for free. I have my own machine and it's the least I can do for your help with the license snafu.
Thanks again!!
Hey, I helped your confidence by letting you finsih ahead of me. Where's MY stickers!!! ;D
Ray, Thanks for being a nice guy and letting me finish in front of you. But that's only because you loaned your SV 'A' bike to someone who crashed it so you had to go to the backup bike.
About those stickers.....You may recall that I gave you a bunch of them in Las Vegas last year so you may have to clean out the trailer to find them. But after I saw what Ted Rich did to the bodywork of your SV, you made the right decision and saving them:)
Nick is helping to paint the trailer, so if you want to create some new super zoomy fancy type stickers, I would be honored to put them onto the pretty blue trailer. Maybe a large version of the FAT BA$TARD RACING sticker would be sweet!!
It's a good thing that Ted Rich takes care of business! He told me today that the bike is almost all done, plus he put some new, lower clipons. He said maybe that would make me crouch lower instead of sitting straight up like I am on a Sunday ride!! :o ;D
You, Q, Jim Davis, and Ted Rich are probably the only guys that I would lend my "A" bike to. Maybe I'll even get to ride it once or twice this year!! ;D
For a while there on Friday, I thought you were going to need a bike after your spectacular crash!! I had Steven getting the Bandit 400 together for you! :o ;D
Hey Ray:
What? No loaner bike for me ???
and Steve Fukiage
You know what's funny? I don't even know how many times I have loaned a bike to a competitor to race in the same race against me! :o
I was even going to volunteer a bike to Jason Catching once, but his brother/mechanic started yelling at me when I was checking the damage on his SV650 to see if he needed a part that I had, or needed a loaner. I guess he thought I was just curious or something, but it almost turned into a fight. Some people!!! JEEZ! :-/
Hey Ray...... no hope of a "loaner bike", ::) but am looking for a good EX 500 crank and misc parts to put my spare motor together. If you are at Firebird West this weekend I'll look you up.
Thanks,
Just strap 2 250 ninja motors together and call it a day! ;) ;D
(Sorry, just couldn't resist!)
......don't even tempt me! ;D

No problem. I know how it is waiting for something to come in the mail and wondering where the heck it is.
Hey Ed-
Do you really think that having two 250 Ninja cranks will solve your overheating issues?? AT least you'll have spares.
BTW, did you ever find that one?
Hey Steve
...nope- 2 250's ain't gonna get it done. I think we fixed the overheating issues, or at least Mark Ledesma thinks we have. He ran it on the dyno last week after I completely re-worked the cooling system and all seems well. He's working on putting my spare motor together and the crank I have isn't good, hence the search for parts. I'll be at the Firebird West trackday on Sunday, so we'll see how it goes. At this rate, I think I'll take up pocket bike racing! ;D
See you all in Vegas, if not before!
Ed
EJ, I received my license in the mail today. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Let me know if you want any stickers and I'll send them to you. Thanks!
Ray, what color is your trailer going to be so I will know what color sticker to cut. Also, how big do you want them?
Al_Soran, I have an offer for you. How would you like to buy an '02 SV650 fully race prepped? We can discuss the option of it being SuperSport Legal or if you want the Flatslide carbs on it for Superbike, GT Lights and LWGP. You will be far more competitive on an SV than an EX. Let me know if you are interested.
David, my trailer is a medium blue just like my new Dodge Ram 2500 diesel! ;D
You can make it as huge as you want. The trailer is massive, so space is not a problem.
Al, buy his bike. Remember, I talked to you about getting an SV. You will have a lot of fun this year battling the other AM SV650 guys. The SV650's are a lot more reliable than the EX500's, and David's bike is no slouch. ::)
.......ahhhh- the temptation of an SV-650! I agree, probably more fun then my EX, and definately more competitive. Right now the timing isn't good, as I may be moving to Las Vegas and changing jobs. If that doesn't pan out, then David, perhaps we can talk. Should know something in the next few weeks.
As for the EX....still overheating, and the motor is out again- I suspect the head gasket is toast and I hope to replace the radiator in the next few days to increase capacity. Gotta fix it, as it would be tough to sell not running!
See you all in Las Vegas- be safe! 8)
Ed
On second thought.... David- if you would, please e-mail me at Av8shunbuf@aol.com with some more info on the bike and a way to contact you.
Thanks,
Ed
Al, I just sent you an e-mail with the details on the bike. Let me know if you are interested and we can set something up for you to look at it.
Ray, since the trailer is medium blue, I'll make the stickers white. Any specific font you are interested in?
THE FAST FONT!! ;D
David,
Got your e-mail, thanks. I'm still waiting to hear if I'll be moving or not, so as much as I'd like to, bit hard to commit. If this does pan out, the preference would be the Supersport legal configuration. I'll e-mail or call early next week to touch base with you.
Thanks,
Ed
Ray- what does fast font look like?.... I sure could use some! ;D
Ed
ZOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Hey David,
Your not planning on getting out are you. I see you might sell the SV.
I was looking forward to getting back on the track with you guys..

wow what a blast from the past. What rock have you been hiding under Michael.
David ain't going to get out just yet, he got a mission, to spank my a s s. I think I might be smelling a '05 SV in the works. I just want to say bring it on baby.
So Michael do want to join in on the fun?
Wayne
Hey Wayne,
Yea, I've been under the rock for a while now. Work took it's toll last year and just when I thought I'd be good to go this year, I got custody of my Granddaughter for a while.(Long story). Anyway, can't take a chance on racing and possibly getting hurt right now. But, I've got the X1 ready to go and there might be an XB in the making to bring out for spanking trials.
Hope to get the personal stuff cleared up by the end of the summer so I can make it out for the second half of the season.. I really miss it.
Wayne's right, I can't quit. I haven't got the power. Wayne and I have a history that dates back 5 years. At first he was smoking me, then I got lucky a few times and I was beating him pretty regularly. Then I had to take a break since my son was graduating High School and had to make sure his life was on the right track. When I started again, Wayne was back to smoking me and I don't like it very much. I saw Al with an EX 500 and offered him a turn-key race bike, '02 SV650, so he could spend his time on the track instead of trying to fix the old EX. He has a complicated situation at the moment but I hope it works out for him one way or another.
By the way, Al, did I mention I would throw in some stickers of your choice if you buy the bike?
Now about that '05 SV650.............Wayne will have to wait and find out........
