Title: Aftermarket Tach?
Post by: Kal on February 24, 2005, 07:32:49 AM
My OEM speedo for my cbr600rr got smashed up after my last crash and I'm looking for an aftermarket tach to replace it.  I though about building my own tach like the other thread showed but after staring at the instructions for 2 hours my drool bucket started overflowing.  I need something pre-made that I can hook up.  Any suggestions?  Or ideas where to get a cheap OEM replacement?

The best tach that I've worked with, aftermarket, has been a Scitzu, or something like that.

Really, the oem ones are probably the easiest ones to deal with...

Hey Kal, not to be a hard a$$ or anything but there's quite a few leads if you do a search.

I used "tach", wndt back 60 days and looked in the tips, wrenching and general sections.

Well, H-Man your hard-a$$ attitude has hurt my feelings.  I might now be compelled to sue for punitive damages.  :-*  Yea, i tried the search but there doesn't seem to be much good info on it.

The one I've seen shops use is called a "S.P.A. tach," which has a built in temp gauge and 3-stage shift lights.

I know Speedwerks has used them.

Damn!  I hate when that happens.

Swing on by the "Black Ops Racing" trailer if you're at either of the Gingerman events and I'll gladly pay up a brewski.  But ya gotta stick around a bit and shoot the sh#t.

spa is the best aftermarket i have seen, operative word "aftermarket"
the stock tach from any bike is better than any aftermarket i have seen, (except the kaw 600 tach, it s*x)
the 89-95 kaw zx7 tachs are perfect for most bikes, they are a individual guage that fits aftermarket brackets, sorry i do not have one for sale
