Title: Legalities on am/ex
Post by: Speedballer347 on February 16, 2005, 08:50:39 PM
If a guy raced amatuer 6 times in two years, then raced expert 2 times in two years, can he drop back to amatuer?

I think the rulebook has a new revision, does that count?

I think the rule book states: Sec. 4:2.9 Any racer that has previously competed as a novice, with a considerable break in competition can rquest a down grade. This down grade in status would only be considered if the racer in question can ride a stand up wheelie with his/her feet on the seat.

You might have to apply for a license after taking a school too...depending upon if you kept your license up or not.  Got to make sure you remember the safety rules..

Looks like Andy's got on his snarky hat today!!!

I hear you're riding on Baker's Busa with the chromie wheels in the Unlimited classes.  Stumpy's got some nice chrome vinyl to make helmet stickers to match!

I think Dave and Alexa are missing the point. This young man can ride a wheelie, and he has a 68 tooth rear sprocket on his motorbike.
Why would he have to go to a school? Hello! He can ride wheelies....

Eric... you do that, and we're gonna have to change your screenname from Speedballer to Simonballer...

PS - betcha I can ride a faster wheelie than you  ;)

Why the Hell would you want to?  You should be clawing with everthing in your being to avoid a yellow plate, just my two cents.  Is this "guy" you, or a friend?

PPS - I went 1.5 seconds faster by jumping to expert.  No lie.  1:15.7s at BHF as an Am, in the top-3.  First Ex weekend was at BHF.  Tried to be as clean as I could, stay relaxed, fully expecting a butt-whoopin.  By the end of the weekend, I somehow ??? tucked in behind Stumpy, and he towed me to 1:14.30s.  Expert is the shiz-nit man, trust me.

Just don't go poking holes in other people's bikes with your front brake lever  ;)

Hey jerkwad, do you know me?!  I never heard of you, but by all the personal and repeated insults you have been throwing at me, you must know me.

I know Jim.
Just that w/ all the bike probs I had, I actually got slower.  I aint no expert right now.
Amateur? Could prolly race for free :-/
Maybe do am till I get my footing again, then go ex midseason.  I dunno :-[

I need to relearn everything, cause I was doing everything wrong.  I was an overly aggressive squid who got away w/ way more than I should have ::)

I think I got a little bit of ability...I am just too lazy, misdirected and stupid to know what to do.  I got A.D.D. too, so my enthusiasm dont last long :-[

I think a 1 on 1 w/ SD would be way better for me than a code or schwantz or speedballer class.

Go to my website.  Should be some info there.  Then a matter of finding a date that works with another organization.  Time is tricky with my current job situation.  Might have some more announcements sooner rather than later, but I'll have to touch on that at a later time.

Ain't cheap, but we can actually do some work together rather than the fun we had last time.

You finally get a bike?  Or is that still a bit up in the air?

$250 dont sound bad....but how much is it w/ your StuNNa discounts?

For that price do I get SD, or one of your other instructors.  I want THE SD! 8)

For that price...it's me...but then we've got to pay to go someplace to do it...PTT, Edge, STT, travel, etc...

You're shot at my school that April was a bit "short", as I remember, so we can work something out, I hope, for you...but I've got to get some things resolved first.  Maybe I'll know after this weekend.
