Title: I rode on the ice for the very first time
Post by: EX#996 on February 12, 2005, 05:37:28 PM
... today.  All I can say is WHAT A HOOT!   ;D

After Renee's basketball tournament (they took second  :D ) we met the boys out on the ice.  Paul was there with the 450 and so was several other regulars from BFR like:  Bob Wagner, Lon Allen and Barney Wright.

I must admit, it took it easy for the first few laps, getting a feel for this new experience and being amazed at how good Renee's little 150 handles on the ice.  After a while a was wringing the little bikes neck on the 1/3rd oval.  I was never so disappointed to discover that there wasn't another gear.  It was fifth gear the whole way and you just had to let off a little as you were coming to the corner entrance.

I had a few Whooo Hoooo   :o moments, but I never dumped it.  (Give me time though, I'm sure it will come).  Paul is working on the YZ250 two stroke for me so that I will have something more 'challenging' for me to ride.  It's going to be interesting next year....   ;D

Well, I'm sore as hell.  So see ya tomorrow, I'm going to bed.

Dawn   :)

You should see Paul walk today (or should I say shuffle).   ;D

<  Note to self:  ONLY ride on Saturday because we need Sunday to recover  >

Some pics of the only damned time I got out this year.  Between flu & crappy weather I just haven't managed to get out again!  And it sucks since I have studs on Jen's 150, so I'd like to see how that works...

Damn Jeff, you have only been on the ice that time before the banquet? That sucks! Hopefully you can get out a few more times before the ice is gone. We have been riding at least once a week here. Last Saturday we rode for like 6 hours!

at the rate the weather is going down here...it will be spring before we know it. Jeff may need to put floats on the bike.  :-/  Oh yeah, that means we can go racing! ;) ;D

Yeah, it sucked...  I had the flu, so that shot one perfect weekend.

I went to Chicago to pull stuff out of Anto's house, so that ate another weekend of 'iffy' weather.

And every weekend since then has been sunny and 40+ degrees, or 40+ and raining...

It's supposed to drop into the low teens this week, so there might be hope for this weekend.  And since my forks are at Ed's, I can't take the 05 to Drucker's...
