Title: Gearing for Daytona

what kind of gearing do i need to be running?  i currently have 1 down in the front and 2 up in the back.  i'm thinkin i'll run out of top end.  the bike is a 600RR

 ???  What kinda bike you running  ???  My bike has 6 gears.  1 down and 5 up.

There is NO WAY I'm telling you how to gear!!  I want to beat ya ;D

Seriously, go one up from stock in the front to start, and further sort it out when you're down there.

It's great to hear you're going!  Why don't you pit with Danny and I ;)

We'll be doing the Team Hammer day, FYI.

You would hit the rev limiter very very quickly with that gearing. Very unique track. As mentioned above.. Try 1 up in the front. (if 16, go 17).. stock rear. This will get you in the ballpark.

i spoke with someone who rode at the testing day and he suggested going 1-2 teeth TALLER in the rear than your normal Daytona gearing.

This lets you use 1st gear on the infield where its really tight while not running out RPMs on the banking

I'm doing the team hammer day too.  i'll pit with ya just save me some room.  and you don't have to worry about beating me.........i'm going for one more year of the yellow.  not fast enough yet for the big boy plates.  yell at me one day pal
