Title: Kawi racers
Post by: Peanut on January 10, 2005, 05:36:16 PM
There doesn't seem to be many of you guys out there but I thinking of possibly getting a '05 6rr and wanted to know what positives or negatives there are about racing them.

Thanks!

Well, no one is racing an 05 yet.

Call my sponsor...  http://4and6.com

They've had a long relationship with Kawasaki.

Raced with them before, 1999 and 2000.  Seemed to have certain issues, but I never got the set up where I wanted it to be.

Jason Farrell is on the board here.  He's got his bike from last year for sale, but is now racing Suzuki's for on of my student's teams...Safety First Racing.

H1's...yup.

Two second place finishes at Daytona last year.  Not sure if I'll have my H1 ready for Daytona.

How about EX's...

Raced those.  Won races at the Park City, Utah races...races through the streets of Park City in 1999.

If I wasn't racing for Suzuki next year I would definately be racing the 05 ZX6RR's next season. I still have close ties with Kawasaki USA. The new bike is better in everyway than the 04. The 04 were a great bike and Kawi stepped it up again for 05.
I'm not looking forward to racing the factory Kawasaki team next season. Have you checked AMA's site yet? Supposedly Roger Lee Hayden maxed at 174mph on the new 05. SMOKIN'
You still need help in setting up any bike though. It might take you awhile to figure out the power gains or suspension setups. My bikes are fully ready to go and already have 120 hp. They are proven also. Plus they already have $5000-$6000 worth of extras on them you will need to spend on the new 05's just to get them setup. Plus you will be on a waiting list for bodywork and many other newly fabricated aftermarket parts.
Plus I will give you all my setup notes.  :o
If your interested give me a call at (920) 236-0000.

Yeah, the top speed was good on the factory Kaw..

But Barney had the fastest 600 lap time on a 2003 former Yamaha factory R6 supersport bike.

 ;D

All the bikes are pretty darn good.  Comes down to what can you set up and what will you be happy with.
