You can find plenty of nice cheap hotels at Daytona, but not during Bike Week...Speed Week, Spring Break, Biketoberfest, etc.

Try hotels outside of Daytona, campgrounds or renting a house with a few other racers.

I recently got word from the PR Director of NHIS that the supply of rooms at Daytona is a lot tighter this year, due to the aftermath of the hurricanes. He said all of the windows were blown out of the Adam's Mark, and I hear that people are still staying in rooms while waiting for their homes to be repaired.. I heard that even my apartment house was damaged, so they didn't miss my business too much when I went to Homestead last Oct.

Igot a place in Orange City. About $400 for the week but thats not bad for bike week and its only about 20 miles from the track, inland, away from the beach, closer to Orlando is you best bet.

From my experience, you have to choose between nice, cheap and convenient to the track.  You might get two of them (I stayed twice at the Hampton Inn across the street), but you can forget about getting all three of them.

I have a reservation at the LaPlaya Best Western for a week~( 5 night minimum)  not cheap but if you get someone else to split the costs ~ it's $230 with the balcony and ocean view ~not too much cheaper with no view~You can check on line~

Many motels are still in trouble from the Hurricanes~

Good luck~

Not as close as some would like but it is cheap.  I stayed further away last year at Altamonte Springs and that was doable.
