Wanna know the secret to getting money for next year's racing? THANK YOUR SPONSORS! Go see them .. shake their hand .. tell them how much their support has helped you "live a dream".
AND .. (now to my point) give them something to hang on their wall or display in their office. Like, for instance, a duplicate Region or National Championship trophy or plaque. For extra punch, present them a photo of you and your bike racing (preferrably with their sticker prominently showing).

Have a question about THE topic and one other. The other is; I have numberous trophies from last year and this year, I was wondering if you recycled these and if it was possible to consolidate them onto ONE larger plaque/trophy with dates, location and place info on it?

Hey, I'll chime in. I had Jeanne make me a sweet 8x10 plaque to remember my finishes this year. It was quite reasonable and looks VERY cool. I'll snap a pic of it tonight.

They're very reasonable as well. The 8X10 like that was around $30. It all depends on how many letters you have, but again, pretty reasonable IMHO.

YES ... we recycle plaques. The only thing we can really reuse is the wood. (We take all of the metal to the metal recycling facility 'cause we accumulate many pounds).
The prices depends on what you need and how many.
I've done several large plaques .. one for Doc and another for Pete Moravek. Pete wanted to hang one nice plaque in his newly remodelled den (or living room, I can't remember which) and he sent me a box full of plaques. Those "recycles" cut his cost in half. If I remember right, it was a 10x14 plaque done in black and gold (like the metal on Jeff's). We engraved something like PETE MORAVEK, Five Years of Racing History (the years). Then we listed each race track and his top 5 finishes per class. It ran him below $75, I think.
Ya gotta remember ... we don't have any other customers besides CCS/Formula USA and USGPRU (all my eggs are in one basket!) And since we work out of a shop in our house, our overhead is much less than any retail shop. So, we pass along those lower costs to you racers (and friends) as much as we can.
