Title: Friday Practice at BHF Question AND Pre-Entries
Post by: Nate R on October 30, 2002, 02:31:59 PM
When I go in the gate at 7:00 AM, then what? Do I register to practice right away at the Registration Building, or is that paid up front at the gate? Do I pay for all my weekend's races right away Friday morning?

If I Pre-Enter, what do I show the tech inspectors instead of a pink sheet??? Does CCS send me something? Do I have to do something at registration on Saturday Morning? How much time does Pre-Entering save at the track?

Nate:

Practice day on Friday, you pay Blackhawk Farms raceway for the use of the track.  You are not paying CCS.

You are able to register for the weekend's races on Friday around 5:00 p.m.  If you pre-enter, nothing is sent to you.  The race director will bring with him on Friday all the pre-entries and you pick up your sheet at registration and then take it to tech.

Personally I like to pre-enter.  It saves time, paperwork, and the hassel at the track.

Take it easy nate.  Its going to be a long winter.

I suggest playing superbike or motogp on your computer like the rest of us.

Or if you have Playstation be sure you play on a big screen TV.  It's easier on the eyes.

LOL. I hear ya. I can't afford any games, tho  :'(. I have SBK 2001, but I have some issues with the controls and physics of the game.

What I'm doing now is asking these questions so I have a plan of attack. I want to kinda know what I'm doing. I know the winter is QUITE long :)

But, I need to work extra hours for the $, and put about 60 hours of work into my bike as well as going to school and running a business. I don't have a huge amount of time on my hands. I'm getting most of the planning out of the way so I don't have to worry about it. I'm paranoid about not being able to race my first weekend because of forgetting something, or not doing something, etc. So, I'll probably overkill the planning at first. But, I feel better than that than not planning enough.

My Uncle raced his F4i one day this past season. He works something like 80 hours/week, so prep time was minimal. And it showed. I hate that. I'm making sure I'm all set early so my head is clear, and so I can work on obtaining more money, and getting sponsors.  ;)

I suppose I should really formally introduce myself to the group. I'll post that later. I'm slowing down. Really, I am  ;D

BTW, thanx for the help, Dawn!

Nate

LOL!!!!!    ;D

We do too!  The bikes don't seem to react they way they should and the only way it seemed even worth playing is to put all the settings on the most difficult.

Personally I am a fan of Sled Storm.

Some advice; Save as much money as you can!! Towards the end of the season, after you've sold your house, cars, spouse, kids, and all your other worldly possesions, you'll actually find yourself contemplating robbing the nearest 7/11 ;D ;D ;D

Hey Nate. I can relate most definitely. I did some track days and a school and had to wait all winter to do my first big race. I had all the same questions. Lemme tell ya......you'll be fine. As long as you don't forget the bike, your safety gear, and some gas.....you'll be alright.

I can still remember like it was this morning, the feeling of when I first gridded.
OH MAN what a feeling!!!!

All I can say is once the green flag drops, the butterflies get left fluttering at the start/finish line. All that nervousness of if you brought everything, or got the right tire pressure, right amount of gas, or if you are in the right grid spot. It all goes away in that split second.

Dude! Now I'm gettin' all crazy cuz the season's over and I gotta wait to!!!!   AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

And of course on another thought...

Save a bit more money, and come to my school rather than Friday practice.

Friday practice is just riding around a track.  Come to the Visionsports' day and we can help out with riding and set up issues.  And once you've came, you can drop by me for thoughts, help, etc.  I have a lot of guys, faster guys, that come to all of the schools.

Yes, I don't have pricing right now.  I have to wait for contracts and all.

How do people find out about these practice days and school days? I know the BFR web site says that Fridays before events are for practice, but I never find out about other days until I show up to race. By then I have plans and can't make it - i.e. Mondays

In fact I just heard that there was some track day the same weekend as St. Louis??  Am I missing out on stuff by being out of some loop?

Do y'all mention these on this message board? I just started using it. Getting information from BFR by calling has never worked for me. I just leave messages and never get a callback.

You can get info about my school from my website.

//www.team-visionsports.com

You can buy me at other practice days, etc, but it isn't cheap.

Sounds like I need to pound some more info into the local scene about my school.  But then again, I think it becomes one of those things where guys DON'T want other guys knowing what we do at my school.
