Title: Oh Santa...
Post by: cornercamping on November 25, 2004, 07:35:13 PM
Well, it's that time of year  :-/  So, let's start the official "What I want Santa to bring me this year" thread  8)

I"ll start.

I want to do the Porsche Performance Driving School for a weekend at Barber.   I"d love to beat the hell out of a new 911 Carrera for a weekend.   8)  Not as expensive as I thought it would be considering your "renting" an $89K car to beat on.  It's actually probably cheaper than a couple race weekends.

or

a weekend in Vegas.   Just need the airline ticket
 ;D

All I want for Christmas is an SV650.  Tire warmers would be nice, too.  Mine are worn out.
Doubt I'll get either, though....  May be standing alongside the track next year with my thumb out! :(

Dear Santa,

I have been good this year.  Please send the following:

$60,000 in cash to cover next year's tuition.
$30,000 in cash for living expenses over the next 2 years while in school.
$30,000 in cash to make up for my recent salary cuts.

Oh, and a 2005 Porsche Carrera S.

Thanks.  I'll be sure to leave cookies by the door.

PS - the bag of coal from last year?  Ha ha.  Not funny.

You only get one  ::)  Pick one.

I say the Carrera S.  This way, you can use that to pick up some rich hot chick, and get her Daddy's Black AMEX card to pay for the rest.  Or, you could pick up a widow and get her to pay for anything.  Either way, you get it all, and a Porsche  ;) 8)

Nice car choice by the way.  That's why I wanna do the track weekend.  Right now, their upgrading the cars to the new build.  :D

In order to receive the AMEX "Black" you have to be invited and charge an excess of 500K per year.  The credit line and the level at to which one must spend in order to maintain the card is absolutely ridicuous unless you are a private buisness owner or someone who typically blows money on ridiculously expensive items (i.e. Sean Combs has one).  I know a handful od people that have them, one  of which makes sports apparrel for football, IRL, Baseball, etc..and consistantly travels to China and Korea.  I beleive 60% of his balance is in flight fees.

How do you know  ???   I wonder if you have to pay the entire balance at the end of the month ?  That's how my Amex is.

Amex is a pain in the ass.   I rarely use it, and when I do, they decline the transaction sometimes or they approve it and then call  me to make sure I'm the one using it.  I got pissed in Vegas at them.  I had to go back to my hotel (Mirage) from New York New York and go get my other credit card.  I was there on business, and I had to pay the $800.00 dinner bill, and they declined the charge.    Then, my wife calls and says AMEX just called and wanted to talk to you.  So, I have like 20 people waiting on me to get back to pay the bill.  I pay it with my other credit card and when I get back to the hotel after the big circus I just went thru, I call Amex and they start telling me that it's for my own protection and crap, and if I go attempt to charge it again they'll approve it.  They just want to verify it's me using it.

What's the point of giving me a card I can't use half the time  ???

So, I don't count on Amex too often  >:(

I'm a simple guy.

I'll ask for a couple of things.

I'd like a little self amplified subwoofer for the E350/bus/hualer/go-get-the-christmas-tree-maching...I just need a little base.

And I'd like to have two metal halide lights for my corner of the garage.

Used to race a '79 RM125...in 1993 when I was doing some cross training.

Isn't an 83 a mono shock?  Is that legal for vintage?

Then again, I think '88's were legal for vintage racing some time ago in some orgs...

Apparently I've been a bit too naughty for the past couple years 'cause I've been askin' ole Santy for just that for a while now. :'(

Well, we just gotta keep prayin' & askin', eh?

Dear Santa,
All I wish for is that my little girl continue to thrive despite coming too soon.  I wish for her to have no more owies, no more bad dreams, and no more days, hours, or minutes away from me (I know that one is hard to come by).  I wish that she'll never know a broken heart, never see for herself why I am afraid to let her loose in the world...and I wish that she'll always believe in Santa.

Tiff, So what you're saying is that she'll be a track brat.  Cool!  That's how I grew up.  (OK, maybe I'm not THE BEST example....)
