Hey,
Brand new here. I haven't read any posts or anything, so give me a little slack if this topic is posted somewhere else but...
Does anyone know what the 2005 schedule might look like for a Michigan racer?
I raced last year with WERA. I actually have no beef with them. But me and a group of guys really want to try some new tracks like gingerman, putnam, road America. Do you guys race any of these tracks?
Even if there are no dates set yet, how bout an idea of what tracks someone from Michigan could expect to see in 2005?
Thanks.
Nik
CCS doesn't run Putnam. Gingerman WAS on the 2004 schedule... but I've heard rumors that it won't be on it for 2005.
I'm sure I'll miss a few here - but the only tracks I can think of that you'd run:
Midwest region:
Blackhawk (5-6 times)
Road America (once)
Heartland Park (2-3 times)
MAM (once or twice)
Gingerman (twice if it's still on the schedule)
NE or MA region:
Summit Point
VIR
Loudon (? - might only be a part of LRRS?)
I'm sure more folks could chime in from the NE or MA (Mid-Atlantic) region. There isn't much near Michigan.
Add in the Great Lakes region with Nelson Ledges and
Grattan
rumours floating about Putnam, Beaverun, and others like the new track in Joilet, Il.
Here you can find info for new riders as well as a copy of last years schedule.

Typically black ink on white paper with a CCS logo at the top. The font is pretty small, but most people can read it.

Great link and info. Thanks.
So does anyone know when this same info will be out for 2005?

That was funny ;D ;D
I'll be bummed if Gingerman's dropped. :(
I don't know why they'd do that.

I feel the same way about Gateway.
I'd be surprised if Gman was dropped. They managed pretty good turnouts for the 2 dates in 04. But I'll be crushed if they drop G-man...
I'd rather see RA go...
(not that I dislike RA, I just enjoy gman *that* much)
Gingerman is doomed. Why? Because it's the closest track to my house. It'll probably be replaced with Texas World....
Ya, Gingerman would have been one of the biggest incentives for our group to migrate. We're all Michiganders. I did a track day there once, before I really knew anything at all about racing or racetracks (if I think I do now that is) and it seemed like a great track.
So, is there a place on this wesite where I should come back to and look for the 2005 schedule to post or will I just expect to see people talking about it on this general forum?
It'll be posted on www.ccsracing.com and announced here when it is, and then thoroughly discussed!

And let's not forget about the schedule also being ridiculed, theorized as to alliances with certain tracks, and people threatening to leave because of it! ;) ;D
Yep. Very entertaining! Conspiracy theories around every corner. ;D

Why Don? Whatever do you mean?
Didn't mean that literally. Just that there's good reading when they announce the schedule. I'd be the last to know anything. :)
I can't wait. Sounds very similiar to some of the chatter I'm used to at some other bulletin boad....
