Title: Classes forRC51
Post by: craigincali on October 29, 2004, 06:40:10 PM
I have a RC51 with a PCIII and EXHAUST.  In reading the Rule Book it looks like I can only race in the Super Twins and Superbike classes, is that right???

I cant race SS because of the PCII????

You can use a PCIII in SS.

So you could run HWSS, HWSB, ULSS, ULGP, GTO, F40 (if you are over 40) and Super Twins.

I guess my confusion lies in the fact that it doesnt say it is allowed, nor does it mention exhausts.  Actaully I dont see exhausts or PC's mentioned anywhere in the rule book...

I just I have to read it as "if it doesnt say you cabt do it, then you CAN do it" right???
 ???

Yes, that is the way the rule book works.

But read up on those classes.  Some you have to race on DOT tires.  You'll need race bodywork with a catch pan lower, etc.

Are you race prepped otherwise?

Yeah I am raced preped.  I have Air Tech race skins with fluid retention, all safety wiring and catch cans were done per Willow Springs Tech rules which are much stricter than CCS.

I noticed that SS needs DOT tires and everything else appears to allow slicks.  I wanted to race HWSS and Super Twins.  I am thining I can just use DOT tires for Super Twins too.

Where do you guys buy Perellis from.

You better off getting your race tires from the tire vendor at the track.  They are going to have the latest, greatest stuff.  If you go to your dealer to get some, you might get something a bit different.

I can't tell you what will last the longest at Willow, though.

I use Michelin's, myself.  Again, I get those at the track...I have more options that way for speed and durability.

DOT tires...SS...yes.

You can use DOT's in any CCS race. Some people just cant afford to have spare rims with slicks or have to change them out every few races. And generally most racers wont notice a real difference with slicks unless you're name is Rossi, Hayden, Duhamel, Mladin or Rosno. ;D ;D

California Race Services handles all the SW and Pac races, but sometimes Kane Lasky (RST) covers for them if they have a conflict.
