Check this link on the City of Topeka approving bonds to fund repaving of the Road Course.
Timetable for the work is uncertain as yet.... could be ready for 2005!

Now can they just move it 400 miles closer to our house?
Right now it's about 720 for us and I'm sure that for Stumpy and the crew it's close to 900 miles.
Dawn ;)
They could move it I suppose. But I bet Tornado alley would still be attached to it! ;D
I like Topeka. The layout is pretty cool. Once repaved it will be a lot of fun.
The one odd thing about that place is that even with all the sealer strips and bumps, you could still drag your knee in the wet...lots and lots of grip. But when it was real hot, the sealer strips would get all gooey and then the grip would go away.

I can't help it that you guys are part Canuck.... I have to give you credit though - you guys do a pretty good job of hiding the accent! I don't remember hearing a single OOT or ABOOT from one of the Buxtons or one of the Stumpys! ;D
A lot of that accent is located in Milwaukee. I noticed that people from Wausau didn't have it.
As for Topeka...
Can't we just move Babydolls a little closer and call it good? :P
Why move it? It's allready close enough! ;D
And that could warrant a 16 hour trip next year to TOE-PEEK-AH. (That was the only word anyone ever made fun of me for saying!)
Stumpy loves Heartland already.
Great news!

Hmm, I am sure it wasn't as funny as you guys making fun of me for how I pronounce Blakckhawk...
;D

Dorn, you just need to stop thinking naughty thoughts and get your mind out of the gutter.
Hey! Look who surfaces! Wuz up Benj?
Cool, now they can move the start/finish line as well.

That was suppose to be done for the race last June(and wasn't). Havn't been back since then to see if it was relocated. I only hope that they are able to schedule the paving soon rather than having to wait until the 2006 season.
Having the full 2.5 mile configuration available could make things real interesting too. The course that CCS has run the last 2 years was the 2.1 mile setup.
Would also be nice if the next improvements include having showers available!
Seeing as how this track is about 45 minutes from my house.......
...............I can't friggin wait for them to get done!
