Does anyone know how far back awards are given and what type they are in class finishes?
I.e., any class for a region.
They used to give trophies for 1st place, and then paper certs back to 5th. Last year that changed, but I don't know if it went trophy back to 3rd, or 5th, or if any paper was involved...
Trophy for first
Plaque for 2nd and 3rd
Dawn :)
Cool!
Paper for 4th-5th or no?
nope. Just 1-3.
Dang! thought I might have a chance at a certificate for 4th or 5th in a class... Oh well, there's always next year ;D
Dang is right! :P Nothing to 10th? ;D
Are you talkin' about the regional championships...or nationals?
Speaking of, if that's regional what do we get for national at the ROC?
Regional...
And a regional class, not a regional championship
I.e., Midwest Expert Middleweight Supersport
not combined points region champion (Midwest overall, etc...)
I have a whole bunch of 2nd and 3rd regional finishes from 2001 that I didn't get anything for because I did not go to the banquet.
I tried for 2 years to get my certificates, but just got promises. Maybe when they start making this year's awards I will kiss some a$$ and try again. :)
how do you collect the plaque/trophy?
Is going to the banquet the only option?
I think if you contact CCS they can mail them to you if you can't make it/after the banquet.

Ask Bill Hitchc0ck how that's working out for him...
If you cannot make it to the banquet, i would suggest that you have another racer you know is going pick them up. Offer him a few bucks to help offset his banquet ticket cost just to be cool. If you do not get them (and here the stack sent back last year would be about 12 feet high!) just think about the trouble that will cause the home office, not to mention the expense of 1-sending tothe banquet,2- sending back,3- sending to you and not even metioning the manhours required (or woman hours). The homeoffice has enough stuff to keep track of (and from all the moaning I hear they sometimes lose some of that) without adding about 1500 (no joke) trophies and plaques. I often wonder if I go to Kevin's house if I would find the driveway paved with plaques, plaques as shingles...
It's so nice when our staff publicly says things like that.
FYI--If you do not make it to the banquet, I typically FedEx your trophy (or trophies) to you so they don't get lost or broken. First place in your class in your region is a one-of-a-kind sculpture, second and third are plaques, and if you would like them, fourth through tenth certificates are available.
Bill, I personally have made your certificates twice and mailed them myself. Perhaps I have an incorrect address, I'm not sure, but I have made the effort.
Em Jay--make sure that around banquet time you email us to let us know that you would like your certs and for which classes. I'll be happy to make them.
For a National Championship, won at the ROC, you receive a one-of-a-kind sculpture somewhat similar to a regional but bigger, heavier, and gold in color.
What are the certificates good for? Are they just something saying where you finished, or can they be used for something?
National 2nd, 3rd plaques....VERY nice indeed. 1st would have been nice but these are ok in my book.

I think I got some plaques for 4th and 5th place regional finishes, too, last year.
Tif, that's totally cool! I'll have to tally up my points today, but I should be either 4th or 5th in one class, and I'd LOVE a cert!
;D
Despite the fact that I b1tched about getting certs for all my 2nd places in 2002, I'm well over it and would be honored to hang a cert on my wall of fame.

I've got this one on my mantle, with the 2 SW regional ones next to it. I gave my parents and my in-laws my Pacific ones (same classes) as a "thank you" for supporting me last season.
When are the award available, I cannot make it to the awards presentation.

Tiffiney, if that is the case, I will publicly apologize here and contact you offline to compare notes on addresses. Talk to you then.

These were the trophies that I received in 1999. I actually won a cup!!
Since then I haven't won a single class, but this year, I should win 7! ;D
