(Preface: This is being done with nothing but goodwill in my heart)
As many of you know, Cornercamping Dan has been an elusive and highly sought after individual since his arrival on the CCS board. The number of confirmed sightings is on par with that of Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster.... not to misrepresent that there is any connection whatsoever between those beasts and Dan! ;D
With the last race of the Midwest season approaching soon at Gingerman, I think it only fair that we all offer as much encouragement as we can muster to try and provide some sort of an incentive for Dan to join us at Gingerman. I'm not saying he would have to do the Track Day or Race.... simply make an appearance in the spirit of friendship in the fraternity of motorcycle racing.
Nothing mean spirited intended at all - a pledge would be given by all in attendance to show Dan nothing but friendship. Simply an opportunity for all of us to revel in the presence of the Man, the Myth, the Legend........
I was thinking that as an enticement for Dan to attend we should each pledge to bring a 6 or 12 pack of our finest local brew to share with those in attendance. Surely this is something that Dan, or any of us for that matter, could not refuse.... good beer, good friends and motorcycles! (I know, I know.... K3 is still hoping that the post by H-Man concerning young girls at Gingerman will still materialize into something that only he has the capacity to so richly fantasize about!) ;D
So what do you think? Anyone else interested? Can we put together an offer that Dan can't refuse?
Kim... can we count on you not being 'overserved' for this weekend? (Really great way of putting it by the way!) ;)
Edgar.... can we meet at Tommy's Trailer?
Rick

So what are you trying to say? >:(
;) ;D
I won't be making the Gingerman CCS round, but I sure would like to meet the legendary Dan myself!
Beer is always welcome at our side of the woods, but I don't think that we need Dan to be there for you guys to bring it. Free mounting and balancing to anyone who brings a 12 pack, just make sure it's something dark and tasty, none of that light stuff.
Here is a list to get started: Newcastle, Rogue, Summit Pale Ale, Bass, etc.
;D ;D
PS: I have realized that Dan is nothing more than a computer virus made to attack online BB's. He does not really exist...
What no Dead Guy Ale, Edgar?
You're slippin'.
(Wait 'til you see Stumpy's new indoor bike trainer so he can ride his bicycle year round! You'll be so jealous! ;) ;D )
Heather
;D Oh, this is gonna be good ;D ;D ;D ;D
So I won't take the easy way out and pick up a case of that pansy beer that made St. Louis Famous....
We do have another local brewer that is getting a good rep.... Schlafly.
Anything here look tasty:

;D How'd you find out ???
;D
I suppose now your going to tell me that I need a Chemistry degree to properly enjoy beer...
From the Rogue Beer site:
"Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops. Dead Guy Ale is available in 22-ounce bottles, 12-ounce 6-pack, and on draft.
Measurements: 16.5 degrees Plato, IBU 30, Apparent Attenuation 77.7, Lovibond 8."
Anyone know what these measurements mean in terms of taste?

IBU is a bitterness measurement. Not sure about the rest.
You work at AB?

Rogue makes Dead Guy Ale. If you look at the list above, you will find Rogue there. I am just not very particular about any of them. Willing to sample any and all beers!!
I can't wait to see Stumpy's new little rocking horse. BTW, he better stay in shape through the winter. I bought myself a 600 and now that he is number 1, he has a target on his back, you know.
Regarding the beer though:
Lovibond: A measure of the colour of a brew. Higher numbers are darker.
Attenuation: The attenuation is determined by the composition of the wort or juice and the yeast strain used. Each yeast strain ferments different sugars to varying degrees, resulting in higher or lower final gravities. This will affect the residual sweetness and body.
Gravity: is a measure of the dissolved sugars present in the must.
Hey Rick, regarding Schlafly, Pale Ale is always a good place to start, but we do not discrimate to any beer. Ask Ryan Johnson. We sent him to get about 6 six packs of beer. He thought it would last all weekend and they were all gone in less than one night. Rookie... ;D ;D
Umm, you guys are gonna give Dgaoru the good stuff? Hey corner crapper how 'bout those tires? Dunlop 218s right? :-*
I'm looking to make my first CCS event in Supertwins since there are no more WERA rounds until the GNF unfortunatly. I'm hoping to get a feel for the CCS crowd and how the org runs as I will be campaigning both series.. Supertwins/CCS and HWTSS ans HWTSB/WERA.
While I would be more than happy to bring the Guiness and Murphy's and share alike amongst a new crowd, I doubt that anything "Dan" related would cause me more excitement than a wet fart.
Look forward to seeing some new faces and competition...

Well Jeez Louise Edgar. How I didn't realize Rogue makes Dead Guy is beyond me!
Welcome to the MEATGRINDER CLASS Edgar!!!!!! You'll fit right in! Would you like Stumpy to buy back the F4i from Woody so you stand a better chance of seeing him in the Middleweights? ;D ;) He just loves a challenge!
And, if Ryan Johnson is a rookie when it comes to beer, you guys need medical attention. :o
Heather ;)
Did somebody say "adult beverages"?
I'll be there, hopefully Friday evening.
Just look for the sideways "2"!

Hmm, ask Stumpy who passed him on the outside of the Carousel at BHF on an SV? ;D :o
Ryan is a rookie when it comes to full flavored beers. All you guys drink is that bugweiser light flavored water crap... ;D :P
BTW, now that it's the last race of the season, I guess i'll have to bring some more rum. I have some Nicaraguan stuff that you guys may like... When are you arriving? Friday or Saturday?
We'll be there Friday afternoon...
Stumpy likes mixies with Rum!
Perhaps we can all do dinner again--if you're not too drunk to walk.
Heather

Cool. I'll also bring some Piña Colada mix for Stumpy... Me and Ryan can just drink it out of the bottle ;D
Dinner sounds like fun too. Come find us when you guys get there so we make some plans.
If Dan is committed to this event, I believe there will be a greater than usual turn-out although it may not necessary mean an increase of racers racing.
Please document the event with pictures!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I ain't signin' no pledge! :P
I only wish i would be there.
