Follow this link.  Pic's and details

This motor only had 1500 miles on it.  Bone stock, never been opened up.
Has any one else had this happen to them?

brother CBR-B-Que...

You can try to contact Honda over it, but I doubt they will do anything about it.  It's too old and you have no proof.

1500 miles on an 01 motor is rather unrealistic in the general term of things, so they probably won't do anything.

I have seen motors pop before (yes, even from Honda) and when they do, most of the time Honda will stand by their product.  (i.e., Scott Herbst popped his 03 CRF-450 on the ice last year and they gave him a new motor.  CRF's are not sold with ANY warranty).

Your best bet would be to have the owner of a honda dealership contact Honda on your behalf.  But again, there's no proof that you've never opened it up.

Yeah, I know nothing will happen from Honda.  It's just unbelievable that a 2002 Honda let loose with only 1500 miles on it.  Look at how many F2's you see still scream around the tracks.

I'm just worried, because my street bike is also a 2002 F4i, with no extend warranty.  It has 13K on it, but if it blows I'm Screwed.

Maybe Honda could at least give me a towel to wipe the Vasoline of my backside.

You can try...  There's no harm in that...

And on your street bike, I wouldn't worry a bit.  If you've got 13k on it and it hasn't popped yet, it doesn't have any loose bolts.

You coming out to Nelson Ledges this weekend?

If you thought Grattan was bad....

Track has been mostly repaved, nice lay out, fast as all get out.

SOMETIMES HONDA DOES GOOD FAITH REPAIRS AND YOU MAY ACTUALLY GET SOME HELP FROM HONDA.  THEY MAY SPLIT THE COST ON PARTS OR MAYBE LABOR.  THEY ALWAYS STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT (WITHIN REASON).  WORTH A SHOT.  IT ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW GOOD YOUR LOCAL DEALER'S WARRANTY DEPARTMENT MANAGER IS.  GOOD LUCK.

Nah...  I've got to take a few weekends off and catch up on housework.  I've got a pile of laundry with a blind down-hill off-camber left on the other side of it...  ;D

Using laundry baskets as a chicane for the kids in running throught the house...
