Title: Think you don't need leathers on the street?
Post by: gma on September 06, 2004, 02:04:55 PM
This is the epitome of stupidity.

It's offered here for you to pass along to any jacknuts you may come across who think it's cool to ride like a neanderthal on the street or without leathers.

It's also offered to any girl who is more concerned about fashion than protection when on the back of a bike. Also, gals - check your pilot's MMPI before deciding to put the rest of your life in someone else's hands.

At first, it looks like she is pushing herself off out of fear. But if you look at it frame by frame, you can see that he launches with a pull to the left. Her right arm comes off and her right leg starts to come off. It seems like she tries to 'instinctually' put her left foot down to recover, but that only served to rip her off the bike. I think the timing of her reach for his shirt in a final desperation to get back on looks like she is pushing herself off.

The whole thing ends up looking like a failed superman seat grab to pavement - not pretty.

Needless to say, she's damaged goods for the rest of her life. Another example of paying for a moment with a lifetime.

I apoligize in advance if this is somewhere else on the board or if you've already seen it. I scoured and couldn't find it.

Remember, I watch people crash for a living. It makes me a little more sensitive to the safety side of things.

One reason my bike is converted to solo. I dont like passengers. I've seen this happen IN PERSON in janesville except those two brainiacs did that WITHOUT helmets. A moronic boyfriend looped his bike with his girlfriend on the back trying to wheelie. Both survived, but she did have a very pretty face before. Now scarred for life. ::) Personally I've gotten to the point if someone dies being stupid (IE stunting in traffic, slamming into a car while riding over 100mph, riding drunk....), I have absolutely no sympathy for them. H3ll in the last 2 weeks alone on a few boards I'm one theres been way too many RIP threads.

part of the reason i rearly street ride and when i do it's solo seat all the way....and they're both idiots. seen this in person also(not these exact idiots), neather one had a lid on and both spent the nite in the hospital. it's amazing how many girls will just jump on the back of a bike with someone that they've never met. and in iowa there is no helmet law so very few actualy wear them, and even less wear leather of any kind. i'm always shocked at the amount of idiots out there that go out, jump on their bike wearing nothing but shorts and flip flops, no shirt, not even a pair jeans. oh well, natural selection i guess.

I should add thats another reason I keep the rear seat cowl on. I've had a girl (well borderline livestock) hop on my bike at a red light. Damn near did a wheelie sitting still. :o After wrestling with the bike keeping it upright I turned around and just started screaming at her. I didnt know who she was, never asked her if she wanted a ride and am not about to let a 250lb girl just hop on the back on my bike. Well its amazing she could hop up on the rear seat of my YZF without aid.  :D Its a scary feeling when all of a sudden the front of the bike lifts and you are not moving.

yeah that scare the crap out you. that much weight my little a$$ probley would have dropped the bike, and her big butt and the bike landing on me and hurting me very badly
