Title: Going to try CCS this weekend.  Help!
Post by: Todd_Smith on August 10, 2004, 12:16:06 PM
Hello, CCS'ers.  I'm currently a WERA guy and plan to participate in this weekends races at Barber.  But, looking at the schedule, I have some questions.
I'm a expert in WERA on a GSXR 750.  What classes can I race in this weekend and what kind of entry fees should I expect?  Is there qualifying or are you gridded in order of registration?  Do I have to join CCS for this one weekend and how much is that?  I know that if this were the WERA bbs, the common answer would be, "RTFRB", but I'm at work and don't have that kind of time.  Thanks in advance!

yes u need to purchase a ccs license.    I think there still full price ??  100 $   They decrease about sometime this year.

for those races 295 in race entries.  But its a twin sprint so the sprints are on sun and sat so there 4 races on sat and 4 on sun.  I dont know when the GTO is.

ULGP uses qualifying, basically another practice session.

Otherwise grids are set by entry date.

Barber is NOT a twin sprint event this year.  Just a normal FUSA weekend.

Entry fees for Barber are:

Purse paying races: $70.00

this includes: GTO, Unlimited GP

Then, for the rest of the races, fees are: $70.00 for the first race, $55.00 for the 2nd race, $35.00 for each race after that.

So, if you wish to enter GTO, Heavyweight Supersport, Heavyweight Superbike and Unlimited Supersport, the fees are:

$70.00 + $70.00 + 55.00 + 35.00 = $230.00

And Dawn is right, this is not a twin sprints event. It's a regular Formula USA weekend. It is double points though...

The fee for the license is $75.00 after July 1st. AFter Sept. 1st, it goes down to $35.00

It is double points, not like that matters if you're just wanting to race one race though.  :P

Oh, and only Unlimited GP and Formula USA races get qualifying time. Everything else is by order of entry.

Not a twin sprint this weekend.

Add to the list of classes you can run FUSA Formula Sportbike and Team Challenge GTO with a teammate.

Purse classes for this weekend  are the GT races ($500 per class) and the FUSA races, (no purse in UNGP during FUSA weekends.)

You can buy a one weekend license for $25 for CCS not sure about FUSA license I think you have to buy the full license there. Full license is now $75 for CCS and 110 for FUSA/CCS.

Here is the new rider info packet http://www.formulausa.com/forms/2004%20newracerpkg.pdf

Thanks for the advice!!  I look forward to trying your organization.  And the race is only 10 minutes from my front door. ;)

No, please keep it on two wheels all the way across the finish line!
