Any helpful hints to make the day fun and uneventful?
Dawn ;)
great america is the best, im going in 2 weeks, uneventfull? hah rite. you wont get bored, just don't go on the "shockwave" ride until the end of the day, in my family it always gives ppl head aches which makes them lame ppl 2 have there 4 the rest of the day
I can see Great America from the bridge by my house.
"cough" I think I'm starting to feel "sick"...
Make sure that all of you and your loved ones are wearing matching outfits. You must and I emphasize the word MUST... purchase a dog leash with the invisible dog. :)

Ya wanna come? We'll have the motorhome ;D

You'll need it! Bring food or pay $7 for a hot dog and $5 for a coke. Bring Pepto and Tumms. Bring warm and cool clothes, and spares for post-puke repairs...
;D
Dawn, stay the hell off those rides! They are not for people our age! You WILL be yacking and popping your spine out of joint if you ride them. Remember, tall people's heads pull more gees in a spin... If you have any of those little sports 2-way radios, those would be good too.

Just bring lots of ca$h! And have fun of course! ;D :D ;)
Jesse's totally right on the Shockwave. I went on it when the gates first opened since we got there before the long line formed. I was grey/green for the rest of the morning.
If you can scratch up the extra cash, they have priority punch cards that let you go right to the front of the line and cut in. I know it sounds bourgeoisie but it will save you several hours of wait time and you'll get more rides in.
QuoteHeading to Great America tomorrow
;D ;D ;D I read this thinking you said ROAD America ;D ;D ;D

I'd love to, however 6 people at $20.00 a pop.... That's NOT in the budget.

Dawn - are you driving down tonight or in the morning? How late do you plan to stay? I'm pretty much chained to my cubicle tomorrow but might be able to meet you somewhere later in the day.
Suck it up and pay for the fast pass...
Bring your own food...
Leave the 2-way radios. It's been thought of by 90% of the other 5 billion people there.
Watch the south park episode about going on the "line ride". Then live it.....

We're driving down tomorrow morning and were going to see if they will allow us to stay overnight in the RV. I'll have my cell phone with me and I'll e-mail you my number.
Dawn :)

Nope... No funds to race, no funds for fast pass.
QuoteBring your own food...
Yep, got that one covered

We don't have two way radios anyways. I always figured my voice was loud enough. ;)

I can't stand South Park......
but thanks anyways.
Dawn :)
Bring and use dramamine.
That stuff works wonders! ;D
I used to HATE Great America because I'd get sick after the first ride or 2, and my day is crap. When I take dramamine, I still can't go on the worst rides with continous spinning or rocking, but I can go on coasters and such no prob.
Dawn - you're welcome to put the motorhome in our yard yanno. I'll even let you use the good extension cord!
Wish I could go. :-/ Havent been ther since teh first year for Raging Bull (which was shut down when I was there. >:()
Only a few rides there I wont go on.
*STandup roller coasters (not safe in my eyes)
*ferris wheels (I dont like them period sicne I dont like heights, but am totally fine on a roller coaster doing loops, rolls and twisits ???)
*The verticle drop (although I would like to try it ONCE)
*bungee type rides (see ferris wheel:D)
Hey! This means that the board will be unmonitored for a day!
CHAMPAGNE! HOOKERS! FIRETRUCKS!

Be good boys or........
The girls hardly slept a wink last night. This should be interesting.
Dawn
So? how was it?
It had it's ups and downs, but overall it was a great trip. The rides we hit were the Wizzer, Superman Ultimate Flight (way cool ride), Deja Vue (I hurt my neck on that one and will NEVER go on that ride again). Then Paul and the girls went on Raging Bull, the Giant Drop, Splash Water Falls, Demon and Chubasco (sp?) which is the spinning tea cups.
We then went over by Kim's, the girls watched TV in the motor home and John, Kim, Paul and myself had a chance to sit and talk. The girls went to bed around 10:30 and slept to 11:00 the following day. While they were sleeping, Kim allowed me to take her V-Rod for a spin (my dad would be so proud, I finally drove a Harley ;)).
For me the hightlight of the trip was spending time at Kim and John's house.
Dawn :)
Superman was really cool... I rode it last year, although I'm not much of a fan of coasters anymore...
Deja Vue. That's the ride where you get to see your lunch again right? ;D
QuoteDeja Vue. That's the ride where you get to see your lunch again right? ;D

Thats the one. Fortunately we ate after going on that ride.
