Title: Tracks near Asheville, NC
Post by: Lowe119 on July 12, 2004, 10:57:26 AM
I am thinking about moving to Asheville, NC and need to know if there are any tracks I can race on. I've only raced BFR and Road America, so I only know of the CCS. Will I need to think about WERA or some other race association? Or am I going to drive days to get to a track?  :'(

I think it all depends on what you mean by "near". Road Atlanta is in Georgia, as well as Roebling Road Raceway. There are a few others that are less than 8 hours away, like Jennings and Daytona...

Then again, you also have "the dragon" to slay...

Thanks. I won't be moving right away, but it's nice to see I won't have to give up this great sport. When you say "non ccs" - how can I race there? Pro only? Other?

Non CCS means WERA.  :p  The SE schedule runs VIR, Roebling, Jennings and Barber.  You could also run the NC which I know runs Summit, but not sure what other tracks.  I know WERA SE runs more tracks.  They have Road Atlanta, CMP (Kershaw) and Talladega.

You can get on all of these tracks with one track day org or another.
